Overall Rating: 2.5 / 5 (Average)

Super is a subscription-based home repair and maintenance service. The company offers three plans starting at $64 per month. All plans include both appliances and systems. Customers have the option of customizing any plan to cover a wide range of home features, including pools and spas, well pumps, and duplicate appliances. Super is one of the more expensive services out there and its plan pricing and coverage limit structure is among the most complicated we've seen. For example, the price of any plan you choose will increase if you have a larger home because rates are established according to the area of your home. Even a careful reading of the company's sample contract leaves many questions unanswered. But the company doesn't limit the number of claims that you can make and some system coverage may be unlimited, depending on the plan you choose. In addition, by adding the It's Covered option to your plan, some appliance and system parts that other home warranty companies exclude are included.

Coverage Options - 4 / 5

Super offers three home warranty packages: the Security, Signature and Lux plans. The more you are willing to pay for a plan, the more appliances and systems are covered. Super helps and encourages customers to perform routine maintenance on their homes. Once you are an established customer, Super will send you updates when normal maintenance tasks should be performed throughout your home. Subscribers have the option of engaging one of Super's contractors to perform the work, with deductibles ranging from $75 to $149. Super also protects against unknown pre-existing conditions, which are often excluded from most home warranty contracts.

Contract & Price - 4.5 / 5

The minimum annual premium with Super is $449 annually. That price applies to homes under 1200 square feet in area and located in Arizona. Premiums for larger homes are higher, as they are for homes located in more expensive parts of the country. Other contract features are on par with competitive home warranties. You are not required to sign up for a full year of coverage, but if you sign an annual contract, you'll receive a discount off the monthly price. Super coverage for existing homes that are not on the market begins 15 days after you make your first payment. That's a somewhat shorter waiting period than some competitive plans offer. Super has a pretty standard cancellation clause. You can cancel within 30 days and receive a full refund, minus the cost of any repairs the company performed during the covered period. However, the company also charges a $50 cancellation fee.

You may cancel this Agreement more than thirty (30) days after the Agreement effective date, and you shall be entitled to refund of the pro-rata Agreement charge less claims paid, any unpaid service fees, and a $50 administrative fee. Cancellation of this plan must be in writing.

Claims Processing - 3.8 / 5

Super makes it easy to submit claims by offering online, mobile, email, and telephone contact methods. Customers can submit an unlimited number of claims during a covered period, however the company places a cap on the dollar value of claims you can submit in a year. Coverage limits increase as you step up to Super's more expensive plans. Under no circumstances will the company be responsible for more than $30,000 in repairs, no matter which plan or upgrades you choose.

Super is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has an excellent A+ rating. The lack of client feedback on the site may be interpreted as evidence of customer satisfaction with their product, or alternatively, attributed to their limited, six region coverage area. Nonetheless, the company seems to enjoy a positive reputation, as evidenced by their #TestimonialTuesday posts on Twitter.

Left me without A/C for weeks in Texas in July. Other claims denied without 75 dollar copay refund. Beyond a bad company, more just pure evil. If you want a home warranty as a buy (in Texas usually seller pays for the first year), just take that money, open a high yield savings account and use it for unexpected home expenses. You will end up saving money no matter what goes wrong. They will not help you out of an expensive situation, they just make you suffer until you say forget it and take care of it on your own. It’s how they do business. Do yourself a favor, if you feel tempted to give money to this company just burn it in a campfire instead at least you’ll get a s’mores out of it

THE WORST COMPANY EVER! Do not use this company for anything. They are unreliable, unresponsive and could give a damn about customer relations. After reading the previous comments, they generate most of their business via real estate transactions, when the buyers do not have the opportunity to assess the real "value" of this warranty operation. I would not recommend them at all.

THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST. They don't answer the phone and their service for a claim is terrible.

I bought super warranty because it was recommended through a friend. I recently had an issue with my plumbing. I called the customer service phone number provided. The agent was very helpful and found us a plumber to come out the same day. We had to pay extra fee of $150 because it was an emergency on a weekend. The plumber came out within 5 hours to fix our issue which was great. The issue I had was that I paid for their highest and most expensive warranty plan but Super still charged me an extra $150 for the emergency visit and an extra $125 for the plumber having to move my commode to get to the clog pipe. If I knew that moving a commode would of cost me $125 then I would of moved the... Read More

Avoid Super Home Warranty like the plague (or Covid-19). This company is despicable, the customer service is a combination of infuriating and robotic-like and they will do everything in their power to not cover anything. I've had the buyer's policy for about six months and everything about my interaction with them has been nothing short of frustrating. They send out incompetent workers, their own customer service is delayed and ALWAYS misses the mark or does not adequately address the issue, and you as the consumer have virtually no recourse for action. Everything is also done over email so you'll never get to talk to a human. This company has raised my stress, made me furious and upset,... Read More

I thought home warranties were a waste, but repeated visits from a Super rep to my office (I'm a Realtor) convinced me otherwise. They *assured* my colleagues and me that they were different--they didn't have the shady contractors, non-responsiveness, and baseline of denying claims like other warranty companies. Color me stupid. Came time to move and I purchased their most popular plan for my personal home. What a waste of nearly $800. You're better off starting a savings account for home-related issues and avoid the headache of trying to get anyone at this sham of a company to help you. They won't. Super Sucks. Save your money.

Do not purchase! I closed on my home on June 12, 2020 and purchased the Hello Super warranty per strong recommendation from my realtor (who I suspect received a commission). I filed one claim for a worn out shower cartridge on 9/3/2020, which is clearly listed in my contract as an approved repair/replacement item. Hello Super successfully charged me the $75 copay immediately, however 6 weeks later I'm still calling Hello Super every few days to find out when I can expect this problem to be resolved. Every phone call, with a different person each time, has gone the same - they promise to look into it and resolve the matter, but I continue to see zero progress - after about 8 no-shows... This warranty was purchased by the seller of my home. Worst company ever, the customer service is atrocious. They have just about 10 people answering the phone. You can never get a “decision maker”. They have owed me $370 for over 2 months. I have called over 30 times and emailed 20 time. All I get is we are sorry someone dropped the ball. Not to mention they deduct fees that are listed in warranty. I have been in insurance for 20 years I suggest American Home Shield. I used them before I moved, phenomenal customer service, nationwide hundreds to thousands of employees and they actually pay claims within 2 weeks. https://www.ahs.com

Super is absolutely the worst, worst, worst home warranty company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The customer service is horrendous, when you report a problem, you better be patient because it can take 2-3 weeks before someone actually comes to fix your problem, and when they do fix the problem, you better believe you are going to be billed for it.. which defeats the purpose of a home warranty in the first place. They are garbage, avoid, avoid, avoid!
