Overall Rating: 2.5 / 5 (Average)

Super is a subscription-based home repair and maintenance service. The company offers three plans starting at $64 per month. All plans include both appliances and systems. Customers have the option of customizing any plan to cover a wide range of home features, including pools and spas, well pumps, and duplicate appliances. Super is one of the more expensive services out there and its plan pricing and coverage limit structure is among the most complicated we've seen. For example, the price of any plan you choose will increase if you have a larger home because rates are established according to the area of your home. Even a careful reading of the company's sample contract leaves many questions unanswered. But the company doesn't limit the number of claims that you can make and some system coverage may be unlimited, depending on the plan you choose. In addition, by adding the It's Covered option to your plan, some appliance and system parts that other home warranty companies exclude are included.

Coverage Options - 4 / 5

Super offers three home warranty packages: the Security, Signature and Lux plans. The more you are willing to pay for a plan, the more appliances and systems are covered. Super helps and encourages customers to perform routine maintenance on their homes. Once you are an established customer, Super will send you updates when normal maintenance tasks should be performed throughout your home. Subscribers have the option of engaging one of Super's contractors to perform the work, with deductibles ranging from $75 to $149. Super also protects against unknown pre-existing conditions, which are often excluded from most home warranty contracts.

Contract & Price - 4.5 / 5

The minimum annual premium with Super is $449 annually. That price applies to homes under 1200 square feet in area and located in Arizona. Premiums for larger homes are higher, as they are for homes located in more expensive parts of the country. Other contract features are on par with competitive home warranties. You are not required to sign up for a full year of coverage, but if you sign an annual contract, you'll receive a discount off the monthly price. Super coverage for existing homes that are not on the market begins 15 days after you make your first payment. That's a somewhat shorter waiting period than some competitive plans offer. Super has a pretty standard cancellation clause. You can cancel within 30 days and receive a full refund, minus the cost of any repairs the company performed during the covered period. However, the company also charges a $50 cancellation fee.

Cancellation of this plan must be in writing.

Claims Processing - 3.8 / 5

Super makes it easy to submit claims by offering online, mobile, email, and telephone contact methods. Customers can submit an unlimited number of claims during a covered period, however the company places a cap on the dollar value of claims you can submit in a year. Coverage limits increase as you step up to Super's more expensive plans. Under no circumstances will the company be responsible for more than $30,000 in repairs, no matter which plan or upgrades you choose.

Reputation - 4 / 5

Super is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has an excellent A+ rating. The lack of client feedback on the site may be interpreted as evidence of customer satisfaction with their product, or alternatively, attributed to their limited, six region coverage area. Nonetheless, the company seems to enjoy a positive reputation, as evidenced by their #TestimonialTuesday posts on Twitter.

My experience with Super Home Warranty has been nothing but outstanding. When I call, prompt action is taken and vendors they work with are as professional and responsive.

Super seem fine to be told that a customer does not want to extend their service (a gift from a realtor on purchasing the home) but then to just automatically try and charge a renewal fee on the card with the account triggering the enjoyment of a fraud alert and now replacement cards before Super emails disappointedly noting their (unsanctioned) request for renewal was denied. Why did we not renew Super? Because for the one thing that did need fixed in the house after two call outs and months waiting we finally just gave up. Because doing things yourself and not working through their awful processes and delays is much easier. But then a year later like an unwanted money-grabbing... Read More

Super Home Warranty appears to suffer from disingenuous service ethic. What I mean is that Super goes out of her way to most of her clients' claims. Furthermore, they call the shots as it relates to when, how, what and who. The client has no say whatsoever. The company routinely responds to queries on the status of one's claims with quotes from their policy manual, which we as the client were never given an opportunity to sign or agree to. Case in point: We signed on with Super in February of this year. We've filed two request for service: the first being our microwave stopped working in March-April and the second, our AC unit went up in August. As it relates to the microwave, they... Read More

Our dishwasher is broken since May of 2021 . We are in second week of August and we can not get someone from Super to tell us what their plan is. Communication is terrible and our calls are not answered. We have not been able to talk to a supervisor. We have been handwashing our dishes for the last 3 months . They deliberately ignore our calls. Their service is terrible. I noticed that they have blocked public from commenting on social media. I do not recommend Super to my worst enemy!

Super did not communicate with us throughout the entire process of getting our AC repaired. Super kept asking for more money but could not explain why they needed more money. It took a month and a half for us to finally get our 1 year old AC fixed. We suffered in 90-100 degree weather and Super could not be bothered to even call and explain what was causing the delays. We had to call every week to find out where they were in the process. I do not wish this service on my worst enemy, take your hard-earned money elsewhere.

I have an urgent electrical issue with lighting fixture. It is now 8 days later without service. Twice the service provider has not shown up after I have waited through the 4 hour window. Neither time did Super even know it happened as they don't really control the 3rd parties they contract service visits to. Super has been absolutely useless - and that is the nicest words I can choose. My sense is that it is intentional for them to drag the process out so they ultimately don't have to process a claim as the first step is to have the service provider do a diagnostic visit (which they don't show up for). Save your money, don't use them.
