Overall Rating: 2.5 / 5 (Average)

Super is a subscription-based home repair and maintenance service. The company offers three plans starting at $64 per month. All plans include both appliances and systems. Customers have the option of customizing any plan to cover a wide range of home features, including pools and spas, well pumps, and duplicate appliances.

Super is one of the more expensive services out there and its plan pricing and coverage limit structure is among the most complicated we've seen. For example, the price of any plan you choose will increase if you have a larger home because rates are established according to the area of your home. Even a careful reading of the company's sample contract leaves many questions unanswered. But the company doesn't limit the number of claims that you can make and some system coverage may be unlimited, depending on the plan you choose.

In addition, by adding the It's Covered option to your plan, some appliance and system parts that other home warranty companies exclude are included.

Coverage Options - 4 / 5

Super offers three home warranty packages: the Security, Signature and Lux plans. The more you are willing to pay for a plan, the more appliances and systems are covered.

Super helps and encourages customers to perform routine maintenance on their homes. Once you are an established customer, Super will send you updates when normal maintenance tasks should be performed throughout your home. Subscribers have the option of engaging one of Super's contractors to perform the work, with deductibles ranging from $75 to $149.

Super also protects against unknown pre-existing conditions, which are often excluded from most home warranty contracts.

Contract & Price - 4.5 / 5

The minimum annual premium with Super is $449 annually. That price applies to homes under 1200 square feet in area and located in Arizona. Premiums for larger homes are higher, as they are for homes located in more expensive parts of the country.

Other contract features are on par with competitive home warranties. You are not required to sign up for a full year of coverage, but if you sign an annual contract, you'll receive a discount off the monthly price. Super coverage for existing homes that are not on the market begins 15 days after you make your first payment. That's a somewhat shorter waiting period than some competitive plans offer. Super has a pretty standard cancellation clause. You can cancel within 30 days and receive a full refund, minus the cost of any repairs the company performed during the covered period. However, the company also charges a $50 cancellation fee.

You may cancel this Agreement more than thirty (30) days after the Agreement effective date, and you shall be entitled to refund of the pro-rata Agreement charge less claims paid, any unpaid service fees, and a $50 administrative fee. Cancellation of this plan must be in writing.

Claims Processing - 3.8 / 5

Super makes it easy to submit claims by offering online, mobile, email, and telephone contact methods. Customers can submit an unlimited number of claims during a covered period, however the company places a cap on the dollar value of claims you can submit in a year. Coverage limits increase as you step up to Super's more expensive plans. Under no circumstances will the company be responsible for more than $30,000 in repairs, no matter which plan or upgrades you choose.

Reputation - 4 / 5

Super is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has an excellent A+ rating. The lack of client feedback on the site may be interpreted as evidence of customer satisfaction with their product, or alternatively, attributed to their limited, six region coverage area. Nonetheless, the company seems to enjoy a positive reputation, as evidenced by their #TestimonialTuesday posts on Twitter.

Utterly atrocious service. We have had Super for nearly two years, provided by the seller when we bought our house. In that time, Super refused to honour coverage for two A/C units, charged us for a service fee FOUR MONTHS after the callout - marking our account 'delinquent' in the process - and is nigh-on impossible to contact. When you do reach an agent to follow up on a case, the information given differs from one agent to another. The agents are also rude and condescending. Terrible.

We put in a request for a ice-maker replacement 3-weeks before our first annual plan expired. Once we submitted the request, we received an invoice for another year of coverage (totaling $800 - including the fee for the replacement). Upon asking the customer representative why we were charged, we were told that once we submit a request for a repair, they automatically sign us up for a continuation of service, which is funny to me, seeing that I only made one repair request for our entire first year. Stay away from this company.

After 70 days of dealing with HELLO SUPER our Viking wall unit is still disconnected from the wall and non operational. We paid three HELLO SUPER recommended appliance service providers to diagnose the problem and two of three recommended replacing the blower motor . We paid them $75.00 + $120.00 + $120.00= total $315.00 for the diagnoses. Its been 40 days since the last service visit and our oven still has not been repaired. This has been an absolute nightmare dealing with HELLO SUPER. My wife is a real estate agent in Chicago and has recommended Hello Super to her clients but after our experience with Hello Super she will make sure to warn all clients and other agents... On numerous occasions, I've had a horrible experience with Super. When I first bought my home in late October 2018, I signed up for Super as my home warranty(I didn't really use them the first year, so I didn't know how shitty they were and I renewed another year). Part of their sign-up procedure/to get approved for coverage, you have to submit the inspection report, which included information to systems in my home built in 1976(a lot of my home systems were replaced in between 1976 and now, but are basically likely to need large repairs/maybe replacement because of wear and tear). Somehow, now...Super deflects responsibility to cover larger repairs by finding loopholes to reject the... Read More

Super SUCKS! I have purchased 4 policies, 3 for rentals and 1 for my personal residence. We have an A/C problem at our home, relatively simple valve sticking. Technician came out on July 9th. Today is the 24th and Super said the approval is held up because they need to make sure it was not a pre-existing issue. We are in Texas and has been 95 - 100 degrees since this A/C problem. Our A/C system is 5 years old and never had any problems, been serviced regularly for maintenance. How can this be a pre-existing condition! They are worthless and trying to get out of fixing this issue. I will be contacting my lawyer to get all 4 policies refunded. Stay away from this company.

So I see a lot of bad comments on this site. I can tell you that my experience has been nothing but great. We moved into a house that had a lot of issues that we didn't see moving in. Someone told us about Super and we signed up for the first year. They serviced everything that we called in and had NO ISSUES what so ever. We called them a LOT. So I am curious as to how all these reviews can be so poor but we had such a good experience. Looking forward to a 2nd year of protection. Joseph Paul, Texas

I do not see the value in Super. The sellers provided to us and everytime I would bring someone out to the house a 75.00 charge. Now they have charged my card to renew which I did not authorize and it is impossible to get someone to answer the phone or respond to my email. I would not deal with this company ever again.

Had a hole in the drain of my bathtub. The Warranty was provided by Zillow when I bought the house from them. They sent out 2 plumbers to only evaluate the problem, only to tell me it wasn't covered because it was "pre-existing". How do you know if a hole in the drain is pre-existing? Either way, they tried to charge me twice for the copay. I understand the 1st one but 2 times? No. I got my money back and I am never calling them again. I would rather shell out $400 and have someone do the work than pay $75 to tell me nothing can be done.

Horrible service, impossible to get through to them unless you want to purchase a new warranty. It will take a very long time for them to send someone out to just ' evaluate' the problem and they will do everything possible not to provide coverage. Basically if its something you need to have (hot water, fridge, etc) you will end up replacing it yourself

My experience with Super is not good at all. If you have a one and done issue (1 visit) you might be OK. However, when you need Super to follow up on an issue with multiple visits they are worthless. My A/C was not working and we called Super. They sent a technician out to our house on Sat. May 30. The technician was OK... he diagnosed the issue as the coils leaking and needed to be replaced. He contacted Super to let them know the issue. Super immediately responded by requesting my home inspection report... which I immediately sent. My wife emailed them on Monday and was told it was reviewed and sent to the Approvals dept. Called Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday to get a status of a... Read More
