Overall Rating: 2.5 / 5 (Average)

Super is a subscription-based home repair and maintenance service. The company offers three plans starting at $64 per month. All plans include both appliances and systems. Customers have the option of customizing any plan to cover a wide range of home features, including pools and spas, well pumps, and duplicate appliances.

Super is one of the more expensive services out there and its plan pricing and coverage limit structure is among the most complicated we've seen. For example, the price of any plan you choose will increase if you have a larger home because rates are established according to the area of your home. Even a careful reading of the company's sample contract leaves many questions unanswered. But the company doesn't limit the number of claims that you can make and some system coverage may be unlimited, depending on the plan you choose.

In addition, by adding the It's Covered option to your plan, some appliance and system parts that other home warranty companies exclude are included.

Coverage Options - 4 / 5

Super offers three home warranty packages: the Security, Signature and Lux plans. The more you are willing to pay for a plan, the more appliances and systems are covered.

Super helps and encourages customers to perform routine maintenance on their homes. Once you are an established customer, Super will send you updates when normal maintenance tasks should be performed throughout your home. Subscribers have the option of engaging one of Super's contractors to perform the work, with deductibles ranging from $75 to $149.

Super also protects against unknown pre-existing conditions, which are often excluded from most home warranty contracts.

Contract & Price - 4.5 / 5

The minimum annual premium with Super is $449 annually. That price applies to homes under 1200 square feet in area and located in Arizona. Premiums for larger homes are higher, as they are for homes located in more expensive parts of the country.

Other contract features are on par with competitive home warranties. You are not required to sign up for a full year of coverage, but if you sign an annual contract, you'll receive a discount off the monthly price. Super coverage for existing homes that are not on the market begins 15 days after you make your first payment. That's a somewhat shorter waiting period than some competitive plans offer. Super has a pretty standard cancellation clause. You can cancel within 30 days and receive a full refund, minus the cost of any repairs the company performed during the covered period. However, the company also charges a $50 cancellation fee.

You may cancel this Agreement more than thirty (30) days after the Agreement effective date, and you shall be entitled to refund of the pro-rata Agreement charge less claims paid, any unpaid service fees, and a $50 administrative fee. Cancellation of this plan must be in writing.

Claims Processing - 3.8 / 5

Super makes it easy to submit claims by offering online, mobile, email, and telephone contact methods. Customers can submit an unlimited number of claims during a covered period, however the company places a cap on the dollar value of claims you can submit in a year. Coverage limits increase as you step up to Super's more expensive plans. Under no circumstances will the company be responsible for more than $30,000 in repairs, no matter which plan or upgrades you choose.

Reputation - 4 / 5

Super is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has an excellent A+ rating. The lack of client feedback on the site may be interpreted as evidence of customer satisfaction with their product, or alternatively, attributed to their limited, six region coverage area. Nonetheless, the company seems to enjoy a positive reputation, as evidenced by their #TestimonialTuesday posts on Twitter.

I don't really know where to begin. My refrigerator quit working at my rental property, so I called them immediately. They got a tech to my rental a couple days later. The tech missed his first two appointment times and barely spoke English. He was supposed to call me after he was done, but that never happened. I called Super the next day and they said they never received the report from the tech. I then called the repair company requesting that they contact super. Called super again the next day and they said that they received a partial report and could not fix the refrigerator until they received a full report. I requested that they assign another repair company three separate times -... Read More

Not worth the headache. Go with a more established warranty company. Super uses Realtors to drive them business and doesn’t follow through on fixing consumer issues. (Unless you are a realtor)

2 weeks ago my Furnace stopped working in 13 degree weather. I called 5 times before finally having someone answer. They sent out a technician who "did a temporary fix" but had to get the OK from the company to order parts. 5 days later he contacted us stating the parts had been ordered and he could fix the issue permanently. The furnace still is very loud and not working appropriately, however I was billed my 75$ copay. When I contacted super again they stated they would send someone out to re-check. No one came. I called yesterday to check for an update and they stated they where not sending someone as " it is on its last legs but not completely broken and a fix would cost them... Read More

Customer service simply never picks up the phone. You can wait forever but no one will answer.

Horrible, unresponsive, policy is misleading. When the repair person was sent out to fix my dishwasher, I was told the bottom rack needs to be replaced. Per my policy all parts and components of the dishwasher are covered. Hello super is trying to twist the policy and say that the dishwasher rack is not a primary component. In fact , their employee Charlie told me I can wash my dishes without a rack to justify the companies position that it is not a primary component. I would love to see how this can effectively be done. I’m sure any rational person would disagree. Very dishonest. Needless to say they lost a customer and I will be spreading the word.

I have never dealt with such a unresponsive company. They even billed me for a repair they never made. I've been waiting for that repair for 4 weeks now. Every time I call Rachel says she's getting it to Christina to make a buyout offer. What the heck does that mean? I want it repaired, not a buyout.

We've used Super for 1.5 years and are regularly disappointed. While they honor what is contractually covered, getting technicians out to fix issues after diagnosis has taken more than 6 weeks (and even 8 weeks) on more than one occasion. The technicians they send have been hit or miss, with issues being misdiagnosed. Additionally, customer service is generally poor, as is responsiveness. I have waited on hold for more than 15 minutes plenty of times, just to be disconnection once through the queue. I would absolutely not recommend.

They sent a technician out to service our hvac, we do not have any heat. The first technician was 2 hours late and left without fixing the issue. The second technician stated the issue but told the company that the issue was a pre existing condition! We were floored and I asked if the tech was psychic. They refused to pay for the repair, meanwhile we have had no heat for 3 weeks since this has been ongoing with Super. We had contact with Rodrigo, Larry and then Charlie who promised to help sort this out but they all ghosted us. My husband was finally able to tell them that it had to be covered, the unit just broke and they finally agreed. Charlie was supposed to arrange for the... Read More

Terrible customer service. We were told that they will send email for date and time for tech to come out, but never got call or email from them. No one came to fix our water heater.

Do not schedule repair appointments in a timely manner. Repair person came and made the problem with the refrigerator twice as bad as it was. Now...they just won't bother to have them come back. Hang up on you in the middle of calls. I've requested a customer service supervisor to call back...we will see if that happens. I'm not optimistic. When I called earlier this year about air conditioning problems, was told it would take 1-2 weeks to get someone out to look at it. I told customer service the temperature was around 100* degrees and that was not acceptable. They still refused to help. I paid a company of my choice to come repair. They have the audacity to send me an email... Read More
