I purchased a home warranty from this company on 06/17/2016. I initially decided on HSC due to their no hassle online service request and the information received from their customer representative. I bought the comprehensive plan and added roof coverage as my package. I told HSC that my house was an older house and all the appliances were on the older side and would probably need repair soon, and asked if that would pose any problems as far as service request or coverage. I was assured by the HSC that as long as it was past the 10 day waiting period and was not a "pre-existing" condition repairs will be honored and/or service request. I researched home warranty companies for several weeks. The Home Service Club got into my final choice, based on being "Best in Service" by Home Warranty Repairs the past two years - 2015 and 2016. For Real? Recently I had an extremely frustrating experience with them. I was very unsatisfied with service and unreasonably long waiting time. So after all, I am going to cancel my policy immediately. All my AC units were inspected by Home Service Club subcontractor service team, after I have called them and informed that, I will need a repair, because my regular AC maintenance company has detected some coolant leakage in one of the units, and have strongly suggested some parts... Its rare that I write such things but I feel really good about the way I was treated and the service i received. last week we entered our second year with this home warranty, and we placed our third claim. We had a issue with the water heater it was leaking from the bottom of the water heater. They sent out a plumber who came with a new water heater in his pickup truck. They had not been out to see the water heater but the person on the phone asked if I would not mind going to the water heater to look at it and go over some simple questions, I was happy to do so. The plumber showed up and replaced the water heater there was no headaches no issues at all.
I called earlier today around 1pm. The customer service lady told me I did not have a claim with them. I was taken aback by this information, so I checked my bank account. Yep! They sure took their money out of my account just like I thought. I called back, only to wait for over one hour--someone abruptly disconnected me from waiting on hold. I called back again and after 3 minutes was able to speak to someone. I placed my claim for a busted air conditioning in my home. I was told that I could call "after a week" in order to file a claim (this is what makes them different from their competitors). Just got of the phone with Anna, Submitted claim for microwave (which had actually been failing for several weeks) and oven, tech came 2 days ago and said neither could be repaired (units to old, parts not available) and would need to be replaced. Did not hear from HSC so after 2 days of tech visit I called and they said they were still working on determining how to handle a case that involves units to old to get parts for (hard to believe a home warranty company has not dealt with this scenario many time before). I've been with them for about a year and a half now and just had my first claim. my hot tub had some malfunction and i called them about it. I was treated well and the girl assured me that verything will be taken care of. A specialist was scheudled lightning fast and camy by the next day and right on time. I dont know, and dont care, what he did, but a little over an hour and a few trips to his truck later he said "all done here" and smiled. The tub has been good ever since. Can't complain about anything, good service.
Had a fine experience with this company recently when we had an emergency plumbing issue. pipes tend to freeze here in PA and after going through that ordeal and thinking all is done, our faucet and shower cartridges start leaking. Thankfully this was a much easier and cheaper process, the Home Service Club sent out their plumber as we did not want to use the one we hired before, he replaced both and all works fine now. I wish they offered auto warranties I would sign everything up here.
I am so happy with this company. This is the fourth home warranty club I have been with and they are by far the B E S T. I will never leave this company. I will be honest I didn't do enough research in the beginning and that's how I ended up with companies that sucked and were RIP OFFS. I researched and came across the home service club and even after talking to their sales department, I was scared but all my research showed me them to be number one.
