Cancellation Policy

1. You may void this Agreement within thirty (30) days of the coverage effective date for a full refund of the contract fees paid if no claim has been made. The right to void this Agreement as provided in this paragraph is not transferable. A ten (10) percent penalty per month will be added to any refund required under this paragraph, including any accrued penalties, that is not paid or credited within thirty (30) days after termination of this Agreement pursuant to this paragraph. 2. You may cancel this Agreement within thirty (30) days of the coverage effective date if a claim has been made, or at any time thereafter, at which time you may be entitled to a refund of unearned contract fees paid based on the short rate schedule less a processing fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) and less the cost of any services performed pursuant to the Agreement, where permitted by law. If the refund calculation results in you owing us payment for services provided, we may bill you for the lesser of the net amount due to us or the unpaid annual term contract fee. We will bill or charge you any balance owed to us through the same mechanism as any previous installment billings, or we will direct bill you if such a mechanism is not available.

My HVAC claim was initiated in May and is still not resolved. My home has been without air conditioning all summer and now without heat as temperatures dip below freezing. I have taken 3 days off work to wait for a HMS Home Warranty service provider that never showed up. I've spent a week attempting to resolve the issue on the phone but can never reach an individual authorized to make a decision. I have been promised a call from "authorizations" and have never gotten one (even though there is a need to verify my contact information even though I've called every day for a week). Forget about getting a replacement. I have been fighting with this company for six weeks trying to get my oven repaired or replaced. They contracted Sears to come out the first time and they stated that the model number was illegible and that they could not order parts because of that. Fair enough, so they called the warranty company and had another company come out, the earliest available time was a week later on a Friday (just in time to not have it resolved the following weekend). I had a faulty AC that I called about approximately 5 times over the span of 2 years. On the 2nd to last time, the fix lasted a month. Upon requesting a recall, HMS sent the wrong company out, so I was required to pay another deductible. The AC was determined to be unfixable and needed to be replaced. HMS sent me an invoice and I agreed. The day before the service, I was told the price would be over 50% more ($875 to $1425). Each of my 15 calls to HMS yielded being told something different - the additional charge wasn't in their system (later I was told it was) and then the additional charge would be taken care of (told twice, but never was). I am beyond frustrated with this home warranty company! Make sure to look up all different names this company goes by. HMS National has very poor customer service. My washing machine broke more than 3 weeks ago. They first had a service tech come out to assess the problem. Several days later, we found out that HMS was not happy with the assessment,so they had to send out another tech, whom never got in contact with us. After making multiple calls, they scheduled another. That company reached out and said that they did not repair the model that I had. Seriously, if anyone offers this as a part of your mortgage contract, DO NOT WORK WITH THEM! Ask for a different company. They lie about their coverage, you're better off just going through your local gas or electric company for their coverage plans. i am absolutely appalled by this company and wanted to take the time to warn anyone who is looking at their seller offering them as a home warranty. ESPECIALLY new home buyers. Wave this or fully look into the contract as well as upgrade. it's $100 per appliance and pretty much any functional part isn't covered so you're paying for NOTHING. This company sucks!!! They outsource their claims department. If you have any issues with your claim you have to fight with 2 companies! I was told my appointment was on Wed. No, it wasn't. I called and all I got was an "I'm sorry" and no manager to speak to, 24-72 hr call back time!! suck a joke! I was told my appointment was on Thursday. Even the supervisor I spoke to said it is for Thursday. NOT THURSDAY EITHER!! What is happening?? I call to confirm with the service company and they say they do not have me on file and cant get to me till next week. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING THIS WARRANTY IF I CANT USE IT?!?!?!?!?!?!

Our AC was leaking freon and HMS sent a company with horrible reviews, who told us we needed to replace the entire AC. HMS never tried to pay or resolve the issue. After a few weeks of no responses from HMS, we called a reputable company who fixed the issue for a few hundred dollars. Its been 2 months, and HMS still hasn't responded.

I`d rate this company zero if I could. I want the yearly maintenance that i paid for. I waited for 21 minutes on the phone for a rep. They got my information, told me I`d talk to a rep to decide what day they`d schedule it. I was put on hold for 19 minutes. No one ever answered. I called a second time and a different rep put me on hold. The line disconnected after 21 minutes. I called a third time. This person told me I did not have a contract with them. Suddenly they did not recognize my name, address or phone number. She put me on hold and I never heard from Marlee again. I was on the phone 97 minutes and I still have no appointment. I paid $300 for a warantee that I can`t use.

I moved into my house five months ago. Within two months I was having issues with my air conditioner. I called HMS and they sent out a company who has little to no experience with dealing with HVAC concerns. Over almost 3 months time, the technicians came out multiple times to fix the problem. They kept saying that the home warranty company had to do research before they could get approval to fix the problem. After attempting to fix the problem twice, the problem was still there. HMS Home Warranty is one of those companies that enjoy's taking your monthly fee but provides nothing in return when it comes to customer service and assistance! I have been calling and e-mailing in for the last SIX weeks to have my washing machine replaced. Yes REPLACED! First they were telling me that the vendor was waiting on parts to repair, even though I had explained to them that the vendor already came and attempted to repair, however the vendor stated the machine needs replaced and is not repairable.
