Choice Home Warranty is a New Jersey-based company founded in 2008 which offers services contracts. Their plans offer protection against the cost of repair or replacement of major systems and appliances in the home via several plans. Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

S&J was on time, professional and flexible. Gabriel had to be flexible because when he called CHW regarding my claim on Saturday no one answered the phone. So he fit me in on Monday though he had other clients. He did a good job changing out the bathroom faucet, even cleaning up behind himself. Should I have other plumbing issues I would prefer this contractor. Regards

I have had Choice Haome Warranty since 2015 and have had to use them only a few times. However, when I needed them it was at full speed. They have noe er hessitated to take my calls very serious and have an appointment set up for me very quickly. Great Company. I will renew with them, no other choice for me. Highly recommend them to all.

My husband and I just joined Choice Home Warranty. Nathan was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient as I left him holding while I shared information with my husband. We currently have a plan elsewhere that we're not happy with. This new (price locked-in) 3 year plan offers so much more and will save us a little over $1,000.00 during the 3 year period. The rate for service calls is considerably lower too.

Nothing has been acomplished in a week . This time I am not happy . An Appointment was scheduled the person did not show or call . I still have my problem . Not happy that I have to pay out of pocket and get my money back in a month . You need to get a technician to do this work . There are very many Technicians all around me . Please take care of my problem .

The tech was great. He arrived early (usually the other way around with Choice). He fixed the freezer, He later called to see if everything was OK and told me Choice had refused to pay him. This is my third appliance to require Choice service. They do not return their phone calls, there was no urgency to repair my refrigerator (over 2 months). Management does not respond to calls for assistance. They do not hold the employees who deal with their customers accountable for committments made. The Sears technician was great. He identified the problems with my dishwasher and let Choice know what the repairs would consist of. Choice responded by saying they would replace the unit. The problem is that they are not offering a fair value for replacement. When I joined Choice, I did so because of the repair or replace guarantee. I put a lot of money into this program so I would expect it to truly cover the repairs or to replace the unit.
