Their plans offer protection against the cost of repair or replacement of major systems and appliances in the home via several plans. Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I have been a customer of CHW for several years and I now think I will not renew. My washer broke and I was told twice that a repairman would come. Two times I stayed home waiting , but no one showed up. Finally 10 days later, TWO men showed up at the same time, and it was very awkward. I think this shows very poor management.

I have been a customer of CHW for several years and usually receive good service. However, this time there were several mistakes. My washer was not working and when I reported it, I was told a repairman would be at my house several days later, and I was given a four hour slot to be home to receive him. No one came, nor did I receive a call. I called the next day to complain and was given another date to expect service. Again, I stayed home expecting someone, and noone came. Finally, I called for the third time, and this time I was told that they need the model number of my machine, which I supplied to them. So far so E*X*C*E*L*L*E*N*T I have another claim in though that they haven't completed so ask me in a couple weeks for an update. What I find excellent is that they have spoke to me so clearly about their operations, but follow thru is still yet to be seen.

The technician was very friendly and detailed. He visually showed me the problem and advised me on how to prevent the problem in the future. He was extremely helpful with providing information concerning the matter and he was punctual. He showed up for the job a day earlier than scheduled we adequate communication.

Technician was communicative and on time to come check my water heater. He was also diligent in sending all information to the warranty department to have a fast resolution. They installed the new water heater the next day in about two hours. I would recommend this technician.

This is the decond time I've used First Choice in response to a pool issue. The tech, and his wife, are very friendly and he is very knowledgeable and qualified. He responded quickly to my warranty claim, quickly identified the problem and corrected it. I will gladly use First Choice in the future.

I was extremely impressed by how quickly they responded to my initial request. I was asked to text them a photo of my broken washing machine’s model and serial number. Within minutes they had scheduled a service appointment in 4 days. This is my first exp with Choice Home Warranty and, so far, I am very satisfied!
