Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Did not even pay for first call from a technician that you approved. I paid him $45. and then an additional $200. Because he said you refused to pay for his service call. I had a maintenance appointment and my furnace tested up to 400 parts for CO2. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. You refused to pay for HVAC DOCTOR to diagnose and attempt repair. You also denied claim for a new furnace needed. On another issue... I tried to start a claim and speak Toilet not filling on the phone automatic service. The recording side...not a covered system! The wait was over an hour to get a human on the line.. Online I did not see toilet as a system.. I did not know that it would be covered under plumbing..... Read More

I would give zero stars if possible. This is the worst home warranty company I have ever dealt with. They refuse to help it takes them weeks to get someone to come work on your problem. When they finally send someone they refuse to cover the expense. I had a dishwasher go out they offered me $100 after complaining they finally offered me 250 which they say is there a max payout you cannot even buy a new dishwasher for $250. I had a hot water heater go out it took them three weeks to send someone out come to find out it was covered under the warranty of the hot water heater but they would not pay the plumber to change it the most they would pay him is $200 I have to pay 600 don’t waste... Everett Appliance man for gs stove repair was great. Mike from Fabriclean for another repair (ceiling fan) is WORST. It’s been months since we’ve heard from him and we track him down he keeps claiming not having the parts and will call me back in 24 hours with an update and never never calls me back. HELP

The plumber who came was fantastic. Your service was terrible. Long hold times. No information. Wrong information perpetuated. You sent 2 people out here 7 days late. Never communicated with me on the day of the issue. I called numerous times and was on hold over 45 minutes each time only to be disconnected. It was a weekend—-not able to use the plumbing with a family? Nobody helped us at all. Very very disappointing in your service. Plumber was paid my deductible. Then you didn’t want to pay him on your end. Yet you expected me to find a plumber. No plumber will come if you don’t pay them. I’m growing concerned this is a scam. Please call to discuss.
