Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

After 22 years with a competitor who has turned increasingly unfriendly, unhelpful, and even hateful at times causing us to spend our own money for repairs because their technicians don't follow thru, we switched to Choice Home Warranty. I recently had my first technician call and could not be more impressed or happy with the service. The technician was assigned the day after the call along with a timeline for his arrival. He arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, checked for parts and returned the next day on time to install the part and do a run thru on the issue. Bravo! I am sold on Choice Home Warranty -

The experience that I had with Choice Warrenty in my opinion was terrible I reported a claim and it took six weeks before it was resolved. In between the 4 to 6 weeks I was given a run around in regards to finding someone that could resolve my issues myself. The issue that I had was a garage door opener that was eventually fixed. The problem that I have is that if it was something of importance that needed to be fixed immediately I don’t believe waiting six weeks to get that resolved is accepted. Choice Warrenty can contact me to discuss the issues that I had more in detail. As of this point I would not recommend Choice Warrenty to any friends or family members.

So far, so good. Air Medics came out the next day and fixed the transformer to the HVAC. Air Medics person was extremely good.
