Their plans offer protection against the cost of repair or replacement of major systems and appliances in the home via several plans. Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Instead of repairing my dishwasher I accepted the cash offer. However it will take up to 30 days to get the "cash". The cash comes in the form of a Lowe's gift card. So now I HAVE to get the dishwasher at Lowe's. NOT a fair way to do business. I have been without a dishwasher for a MONTH!

After using their service it was not really worth the cost. Multiple calls out for air conditioning, pool (which I paid for), oven microwave, dryer and shower head. Those were the ones they did not fix. They did fix the dryer once because it needed a new belt. Don’t waste the money, just pay for the problems as they arise. No need to pay thousands for we don’t cover that. They ensure the common problems are not covered. You need an outlier
 I guess that’s why it’s a good business for them.

Service was scheduled fairly quickly, thank you. Tech with Fannon and Sons worked worked quickly and professionally, leaving with the unit leak fixed and cleaned.

2 yr old washer quit. Choice did not approve all that was needed to fix everything that needs fixing only 1 part. Why would they not approve & fix everything. If the one part won’t fix then they said the would do a buy out
how much would a buy out be? New washer costs more then $200-300. Not to happy so far, plus I will need to take laundry out, very inconvenient .

The technician that came out from JB mechanicals worked so hard to clear my drain, he never gave up. He was courteous, efficient and had to use many methods until he had the drain cleared. I'm not sure of the time, but it was around 5-6 hours he worked. Thank you Choice for providing such a dedicated worker. Luis Lopez has my vote for the employee of the year.
