AFC Home Club’s hybrid policies cover many of the same systems and appliances as its competitors.

Notwithstanding the lack of included specialty items, a good benefit is their user friendly, every-item service cap of $1,500-$2,000. HVAC systems are subject to no coverage caps, which is a great addition for the company.

AFC Home Club only covers issues that arise after they begin providing service. Exclusions covered in the below link refer to AFC's Platinum plan, which is the most comprehensive.

In addition to a personalized quote calculator and sample contract available on the website, a 30-day refund policy is guaranteed, as is a pro-rated version after that period.

Cancellation Policy

Customers can cancel the policy any time for any reason for a pro-rated refund. If AFC cancels a customer for non-payment, though, no refund is due.

New members may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid membership. After 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid membership fee, less any claims paid or time used in membership by CRAST, and a $75.00 cancellation fee.

AFC Home Club's service fees of $75, $100, and $125 keeps them competitive with comparable companies in the industry. Its 30 day waiting period is fairly standard.

AFC allows customers to work with out-of-network contractors of their choosing.

However, they do have to be licensed, bonded and insured. AFC only requires maintenance on HVAC systems in the first year of the contact.

Moreover, if a claim is filed before the 30-day waiting period has expired, the maximum payout amount is limited to $150.

It's been a long and drawn out process for me. After my 1st experience with "all and all"plumbing coming in for 5 minutes assessing my home, Taking my payment and never coming back. I was assigned another company. And told by AFC Management that they would find another company and wave my feet of $60. "Performance electrical " was scheduled to come between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on October 10th I called AFC just to make sure that the plumber was still coming. (Twice.) And also to make sure that my $60 service fee would still be waived. The representative told me it would. I filed two requests for service and neither time did they assign a service technician. I had to fix it on my own. I was told that they don't assign technicians on the weekend. So if your heat goes out on a Friday night you have to wait until Monday when they get around to reviewing it. No thanks when I have kids and pets and the weather is cold. My first request was a back up drain and water overflowing in my sink. They waited a week and called me back saying THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYONE TO COME OUT. ??? When I called about my AC issue, they told me to call an outside company to get an official document of what was wrong with my unit before “considering” assisting me. AFC has not only not been helpful, but I have never felt as obsolete as a customer. The manager asked me “oh, you want to cancel. Ok, do you know the steps”? The cancellation process itself is the most inconvenient process, which to me indicates that they are hoping people delay cancelling so they can suck more money from them. If zero stars was an option it would have been selected. Submitted for washer request four weeks ago and it still hasn’t been fixed. Seemed as if no one cared there was a problem, as the would “look into it” and still not have a resolution days later. Took three weeks to even get someone here to look at the problem, and again, still isn’t fixed. Spoke with multiple managers and spent way too many hours on hold. Only positive is that they covered the service fee... but again, still without a washer after 4 weeks. Would not waste your money on this warranty.

Upon more research, your account reflects that the technician failed to show up for appointments. Upon reassignment, it looks to have happened again which we truly regret. AFC Home Club does not employee technicians and when they confirm a schedule and do not show up for our members they are no longer authorized to be used by AFC. STOP! Please Read Before you Buy AFC I purchased AFC on July 31, 2019 and I was told it will have a 30-day waiting period, my credit card was charged immediately. The sales agent told me that I could file claims after August 31, 2019. 52 days later, I filed a claim online, got a call from AFC the same day and declined the coverage because I was still under 30-day waiting period. AFC has deceived me, I am filing a complaint with BBB, Texas Attorney General and TDLR

Agree with Teresa R. Really need to read the fine print IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS. I'm out almost $400 with no service. To cancel you have to send a written letter (it's 2019 and they're still using USPS???) Their service people are taught to repeat "it's policy" like robots. Definitely out for your money, as you'd expect from a home warranty. You HAVE to provide proof of preventive maintenance to qualify for a reimbursement on a repair. If you're on a payment, they'll only pay out as much as you've paid into it, which is complete BS. (That's not a warranty, that's a low interest savings plan.) Days 31-60 they will cover only up to $150 in repairs, which is *nothing* when your A/C goes out. In... Read More

You are right in the fact that the coverage we send to you should be reviewed during the 30 day 100% moneyback guarantee review period. The User Agreement is in place for you, not for AFC so that you can review what you purchased and make sure it fits your needs adequately. We do have limitations in the first active 30 days, but this is only for new members and once you become a recurring member this is not the case. Regarding AFC only paying out what you pay in that is false information we have a $10,000.00 annual pay out limit. dissatisfied with service and feel deceived,Hidden stipulations that were not pointed out and I feel they should have been. Everybody I talked to were very apologetic and nice but bottom line, nothing changed they were only going to pay a small portion of my dishwasher repairs due to calling 3 days prior to the 31-61 day waiting period??? never had heard of this. Was scolded for not reading the full contract. Even though their incompetent tech showed up very late and was after the 31-61 day period,they go by the day you foiled the claim. Totally deceiving. The whole experience with this company was frustrating.

You guys provide really good service but it’s slow. You have to go through so many different approvals it’s hard for your customers. For example this time my freezer broke and the tech attempted to get approval over the phone to be able to order the part during business hours on Wednesday, receive the part on Thursday and schedule the second appointment for the final repair on Friday, but you informed him and me that extra approval was needed, so now although you approved it the part won’t get order until tomorrow which means it won’t come until Friday and I won’t get a final repair until Monday, 3 days more of wait, in the mean time half of my food will probably go bad unless I am able to... This company sells you on the promise that they will pay for the repairs but they always find a way to pay less than the full amount. They also take their own sweet time in processing your claim. I had an air conditioner fail and it has been over a week since I filed my claim and they have yet to give me an answer. In the meantime its been over 95 degrees outside. I like that I can choose my on technician but I always have to pay for the repairs up front and then fight with AFC about how much they will pay.
