I called for a garage door repair on a Sunday. I was put to an automated system which set an appointment. The contract states that the assembly of the garage door is not covered. I did not think a spring was part of the assembly. The service man came out and said that American home shield denied coverage. The man said I will install the spring for 375.00 with service fee included. I called Home shield and was left on hold thinking they will refund the service fee. Because the contract was not clear and I have been a customer for years. They not only denied my request they told me I did not have to use the installer they sent, Exit garage doors was double the price of any other garage... Read More
THEY DON'T HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!!!! After waiting the 30 days for the coverage, we had electricians come to install new ceiling fans. They couldn't do that safely because of issues with the wiring, so we needed the wiring redone. They refused to honor the warranty on that, the dishwasher or the plumbing issues with the house we just bought!
FRAUDS!!!!
I don't understand how this company has such a high rating. I have had nothing but issue with getting claims taken care of. The purpose of getting home warranty is to protect the appliances that are original or old enough they have issues. With AFC, if the appliance is more than 13 years old, the amount they will offer is called "good will". Here is what one should ask when getting a quote 1. What appliances are covered? If you have a cook top, combo microwave wall over. Only 1 of the 3 are covered unless you add on the additional items. 2. HVAC - is there anything I have to send in to have my unit covered? If you don't mind giving away money and you sincerely don't expect anything in return. Then you have found the right company. I bought Home Warranty when I bought my new house for the peace of mind thinking if something happened it would be covered. WRONG they said since everything was covered under manufactory warranty (HVAC) they don't cover labor, leak checks, or parts, But will cover up to 25 dollars per pound. cost of Freon 40 dollars a lb. So for my warranty and piece of mind I got a discount on freon. I paid 700.00 for the tech to fix my leaking AC. I paid AFC home club 500.00 for membership. What a pleasure working with AFC Home Club. I've tried other home warranty companies but they have been the best. Quick phone answering, helpful staff and they follow up on each job. They actually sound like they enjoy their job! Hats off to AFC. I've told my friends about them and hope they sign up as well.
Do not use this company for your home warranty! Their customer service is the worst I've ever seen. Last year, our air conditioner went out... When it happened, I wasn't too surprised that we had a battle on our hands, just because you always hear the bad stories about warranty companies not wanting to cover large costs. Anyways, when ours went out, I contacted them and made the claim for our AC unit. They immediately stated they couldn't cover our AC unit because there wasn't a preventative maintenance check submitted before the AC unit went out and refused to discuss it further with me and would not return my phone calls. The service is amazing! I can't deny the fact that they are very responsive and is willing to help me doing the whole process. In fact they call me to follow up what other needs I want. I would love to recommend this company because it gives me satisfaction and guarantee for the coverage they given to me. I am a happy customer with them. I would love to recommend this company because the value of their homes is pretty reasonable and is worth it. The money you paid for it you won't regret for the services and helpful employees they had.
After I called to repair my washing mashine i was contacted back shortly. Engineers came by identified the problem ,ordered and replaced the part. Thanks you for your quick support

Requesting service feels like I am doing all of the work when the 3rd party does not show up or are totally unaware a claim was made so the repair can take up to a week. They cover almost everything and the price is great however be warned that if any of your appliances are over 5 years old they many deny to repair them and offer you cash instead declaring the value of the appliance is zero. Seems strange since most appliances under 5 years of age do not need a warranty. So after spending $500 a year, then a $60 service call, you get an offer of $100 for your old dishwasher when it breaks, or should I say $40?
