Very disappointed in my service. Customer service sucks and there is no resolution to my problem.
Stay away from this warranty company have been dealing with ac issues since July and still is not fixed and was told i had to pay contractor first then get reimbursed within 3-4 weeks now its been over 2 months no ac and no reimbursement from this company was given another email to send paperwork to and still no response. I see on Facebook that im not alone in this struggle. I have a 60 yr old stroke victim that can not be in the heat . Texas heat this summer has been in the triple digits. Still no help from american home shield but the enjoy taking my monthly payments out of my account . I live in Texas heat can kill people.
Shame on this company for taking advantage of disabled people
I have always had issues getting AHS to cover any repairs. Its always some reason or another its not covered. Dont waste your money on this company
I have had so many bad experiences with their contractors. My most recent experience is in middle of July 2019 my clothes dryer went out the contractor that AHS gave me , i had to wait until first week in August before a contractor would come out to fix it. I keep calling American home sheilds injuring but all i got was bad customer service- they hung up on me several times and they would not let me speak to a supervisor when i requested it an gave me the run around badly. the first contractor that finally can after his vacation the first week of August put a new part on the dryer it worked for a week the it stop working again. i called AHS they sent the same contractor back this time... American Home Shield is a poorly ran company! I went with this company for four years. They started out as a 5 star rating, now barely holding a 3 star rating, I believe. Them claiming to be a 5 star company is bogus. Watch-out for companies tooting their own horn! The only five star companies are "Choice" & "Select." I had paid AHS over $2200 in four years and used the service twice. They lied about fees to me and when I actually received there contract. Nothing was true! The representative lied about my service fee dropping from 125 to 100. All lies! When I called them to speak with a supervisor, they denied me that right. This used to be a really good company and covered a lot of items no questions asked. I recently have had several issues from not enforcing the contract (denying a claim) to the inability to have an intelligent conversation on the phone and be able to talk to the right person. They are also not the cheapest anymore. It's too bad to see a good company go south but I would not recommend this company any longer.
Cancelled contract on 7/23/2019 with"RJ". Was Debited $100 for service call that was not completed. Was contacted "Joy" on 8/2 regarding monthly charge for August. Joy stated that she would cancel the contract. Phoned on 8/9 to verify cancellation and was hung up on. On 8/11 called again and was hung up on. Phoned today and spoke to "Mark" who was unable to give the phone number to the Cancellation Dept. Will be filing with the BBB and the FTC regarding unfair business practices.
We had AHS when we first moved and didn't renew. When our Heat Pump went down this summer we thought it would help us to just start another contract...WRONG. We waited a month to even put our service request in and once we did the contractor sent out did nothing but put his hand over vents and say it wasn't our ductwork check the freon charge; which is low, and then tell us he wasnt sent out for that (our order was for heat pump and ductwork)so he wasn't going oto fix it. My son has Cystic Fibrosis so minimum isn't and will never be okay. When I contacted them I was told diagnosis hasn't been put in. Worst service ever! Worst customer service ever!
I paid a significant amount of out-of-pocket money to get the AC fixed, and it took over a month to get it fixed.
After two years with them, I have been trying to cancel my contract for over 2.5 months, but they keep bouncing me from number to number and now they are sending me urgent messages for past-due balance... What a mess!!
The only reason why I give 4 stars is because American Home Shield paid to filter out bad reviews. *I am a realtor, American home shield came to my old company every month to promote how good they are and I believed them. Even after I moved to another company, I still recommended american home shield to my buyers and have them for my new home as well. Our AC stopped working today, we called AHS, they told us they do not send contractors on weekends... On a day it is 110 F outside and rising swiftly inside to unbearable conditions, we must wait until 3-6 pm Monday- three full days from now for the AC company to evaluate the problem. It could be days after for the repair to be made.... Read More
