What's Included with Delta Dental

Negotiated Fees. Delta Dental has worked with network dentists to lower the costs of their services. This means cheaper treatments and bigger savings for you.

Balance billing is not allowed, because participating dentists agree to accept Delta Dental's fee and the patient co-payment or deductible (if applicable) as full payment.

There are no forms for you to fill out because participating dentists submit claims directly to Delta Dental.

Payments are made directly, no need to wait for reimbursement checks.

No deductible or calendar year maximum.

Set copayments so you know your out-of-pocket cost for each procedure.

Ive had Delta for about 15 years. If i got back all the money I ever paid them then that would cover all dental work Ive ever had done. Don't waste your money on Delta. I don't know if there is something better since I pay delta through my employer. You actually are better off just getting rid of Delta and taking the weekly/monthly premiums and putting them into your own account. And im not having $5000 dental surgery just normal teeth pulling. A $1500 a year maximum cap and they might cover 60% of the bill. Thats like trying to feed a tiger with a cheeseburger. Not nearly enough. finally got tired of it after i had to cancel my last dental appointment to remove 2 molars because the... Read More

Delta Dental insurance is worse than having no insurance. Be prepared for continuous misinformation and worthless coverage. Delta will say your claim is covered and provide written documentation. The next day, Delta will deny the existence of that call and documentation. You can repeat this cycle endlessly. Being a Delta customer is a miserable experience, worse than any pain from a dentist's office.

my husband has taken out Delta dental PPO insurance, for himself and for me, and this insurance does not cover anything. The plan says 100% coverage for the exam and cleaning, but my dentist said we had no coverage. I do not understand why we are giving the monthly payment if there is no coverage for any procedures. Terrible insurance, will refuse it and look for another insurance company.

I’ve noticed that Delta Dental insurance has not increased their coverage AT ALL for many, many, years, even though dentists have increased their rates horrendously. I had Delta for many years through my employer. When I retired, my first thought about replacing dental insurance was ; no way Delta!! I don’t think they deserve a one star, but have to give it to get on the comments section....if this makes it that far....

My assigned dentist apparently no longer exists (no one answers phone or returns messages... died??). Delta Dental steadfastly refuses to allow an immediate change of dentists "changes are only effective on the 1st of the Month". Does this make any sense?? Apparently it makes Delta $$$$$ "Don't get Mad" Get Even.

There is no way this company has a 5-star review lol. This company doesn't cover s**t. Absolute scam (more so than insurance typically is). Even if this is offered through your employer you should NOT subscribe. In order to leave this comment this website made me check a box that says: "I agree that I have not received compensation for my comment and that my opinions reflect my authentic experience as a customer or former customer.". BUT somehow the website ignores it's own advice and is OBVIOUSLY getting compensated to give Delta Dental a 5-star review despite nearly every comment saying this company is trash.

absolutely the worst!!!!! enrollment on phone, payment at same time, no receipt, no enrollment id, absolutely no communication, dentist 80 miles away, 4 montlhs later when i called to get enrollment or id, something, or appointment, said i should try their more expensive plan, dentist 30 miles away, tried to get appointment, no recognition or response from dentist, now 7 months when i called to cancel, i was told it would be doubtful i would get ANY refund. crooked! thieves!

What is meant by Annual Maximum $1000 per person, per calendar year? Work done by the dentist? That ain't much with the prices they charge these days.

Insurance coverage by this company sucks. There is no guarantee for any coverage regardless of what the plan states. All individuals and companies need to steer away from this company. Had a tooth extracted for other work and it wasn't coverage because of a "missing tooth". Are you serious? You have better luck having your Vision insurance pay for your dental work.
