What's Included with Delta Dental

Negotiated Fees. Delta Dental has worked with network dentists to lower the costs of their services. This means cheaper treatments and bigger savings for you.

Balance billing is not allowed, because participating dentists agree to accept Delta Dental's fee and the patient co-payment or deductible (if applicable) as full payment.

There are no forms for you to fill out because participating dentists submit claims directly to Delta Dental.

Payments are made directly, no need to wait for reimbursement checks.

No deductible or calendar year maximum.

Set copayments so you know your out-of-pocket cost for each procedure.

BEWARE - Doesn’t value loyal customers – Employees lied about Waiver exemptions for No Lapse In Coverage I called in several times to Delta Dental to explore a private membership after a decade of being what I thought was a valued member with Delta Dental during my employment with where I had employee benefits. After no longer being an employee at my company, I called Delta Dental for a private membership and was told and assisted that the fact that I had no lapse in coverage I would be granted a waiver of the new membership that stipulated they won’t cover anything but cleanings for the 1st year until you pay in a years worth of premiums ($1200.00). I spoke with over 5 employees... Read More

When I signed up I wasn't told that you cannot cancel until you have made 2 yrs of monthly payments which come out to a couple hundred dollars for the inexpensive plan. There really is no such thing as dental insurance now that we no longer have medical insurance plans like in the past. Basically you are paying a small or large fee per year for a discount. If you pay cash any Dentist I have encountered will charge you their regular high fee for each procedure with no discount. If you have one of these insurance plans you get a discount from 30 to 50 % of a jacked up price. You could equate it with suggested retail price by manufacturers to there customers, the retailers, who most of them,... Read More

Appallingly bad customer service. Worst insurance experience ever, anywhere, in any category. This company should not be in business; they are running a scam.

They allowed $48.00 for cleaning and xrays, I was to pay $50.00. Did not cover crowns, etc. What exactly and I getting for the cost of the policy. It is cheaper for me to pay cash, at least I would not be out the cost of the policy.

This insurance is a total scam! It's been 2 years and they still haven't paid my claim despite the fact that my dentist has been arguing with them this whole time. They make false excuses for not paying, then the dentist provides the information that Delta says they need, and then they circle back and start making other excuses. It took me nearly an hour to get to a customer service rep whose only help was to read back to me all the excuses that had all been resolved. I am reporting this insurance company to the AG of Texas, the Texas Insurance Fraud Agency, the Consumer Protection Agency and the BBB. When I typed in the Delta Dental Insurance name on the BBB website, an immediate... Read More

I bought the most expensive plan available. The policy said that after a $50 deductible, I would pay $0 for an exam and teeth cleaning. Instead, my wife had to pay $113 and I had to pay $174. I decided to cancel my policy. You can't do it on the Delta Dental website; you have to call. I'm on hold now. It's been over 1.5 hours. I've been transferred twice. You cannot reach them if you have a problem.
