Guardian Dental Insurance review
Unfortunately I've had bad experience with GDI but thing are getting better. One example is trying to get a replacement bridge approved. My Dentist sent 2 requests with x-rays to Guardian and did not receive any response. I took the reins and called Guardian one day. The rep told me there was no record of for a bridge replacement. She but me on hold, got back to me and said the request was waiting approval. I replied, "I thought your records showed not requests." She said it was seen further down the document she was reading and Guardian would call me back in two hours to let me know the results. Yes, guessed it, I did not receive a telephone call. I called back the next day, got the same run around but the only difference was I had to wait 48 hours for an update. After hanging up, I called Guardian again and this time was told a different story. The claim was approved. Wow! miracles never seem to amaze me. In a matter of minutes I received a negative response and than a positive one from a Guardian rep. A good lesson from this whole ordeal is to stay persistent. Do not let your guard down. Unfortunately one has to stay persistent this days to get "good customer" service.

This coverage is terrible. The communication is awful, customer service can't speak English and therefore has trouble communicating information. They said they'd cover 80% for out of network fillings, then they tell me it's 80% of the rate THEY decide, not what the dentist charges. They didn't even cover the full cost of my cleaning. If you have another option, choose it. also, it won't let me rate anything below very good, what a scam!

Shopping for new dental insurance. Delta used to be the BEST in Arizona but they cover less with higher deductibles than when I signed up over 5 years ago. In addition, my premiums have more than doubled from $500/year for me and spouse to over $1100/year now. They have always paid their bills and I have not heard differently in the last year.
