Embrace Pet Insurance Agency LLC is a pet insurance provider based in Cleveland Ohio that sells policies for dogs and cats. They were founded in 2003 and are underwritten by American Modern Home Insurance Company.

Embrace gets good marks from us mainly on the strength of customer satisfaction.

Even though plans are a little on the pricier side, and unlimited coverage is not an option, customer feedback is among the most positive.

Also, Embrace offers standard coverage of many conditions and treatments not offered at all by most plans. These include behavioral therapy and prosthetics.

Embrace sets itself apart from the pack in coverage because, in addition to providing for usual accidents and illnesses, the company also covers various items not traditionally offered under other companies' standard plans.

These include prosthetic limbs, behavioral therapy, and alternative treatments. Embrace also offers prescription drug coverage and a wellness plan at an additional cost.

As with all pet insurance plans, Embrace will not cover pre-existing conditions if they were apparent before the policy purchase.

Embrace's waiting periods are pretty much standard when compared to other companies.

For accidents and illnesses, the waiting period is 14 days. However, in some states, the waiting period for accidents is only 48 hours or two days.

There is an additional six month waiting period for dogs for orthopedic conditions, but there is an option to have this reduced to as little as 14 days.

Embrace will not allow pets older than 14 to enroll in illness coverage, which some other plans do.

Embrace has some of the best feedback we've seen when it comes to customer service.

The majority of online reviews mirror generally positive experiences. To make a claim you must fill out the claim form that was included with the enrollment email.

You can also download the form on the website or have it mailed to you. The form must be filled out by a veterinary staff member. Include all relevant invoices and receipts and fax or email them all to the company.

Embrace offers direct deposit to get you the reimbursement as quickly as possible. Furthermore, beginning recently, claim forms can now also uploaded through MyEmbrace, the company's online customer account.

Truly the best company I have ever worked with! They make everything quick and painless while communicating every step of the way. Taking the stress out of Vet bills is a huge relief, and the coverage they provided for my dog's emergency surgery was a huge help. Absolutely worth every penny.

From the start of our claim, with my phone call into Embrace to each and every invoice I have submitted, service has been A+. Friendly, Kind and attentive. Turn around time on claims is quick and with the direct deposit option, the funds are transferred into my checking account promptly. I have nothing but excellent things to say about Embrace and would highly recommend them.

My promise to my two adopted pugs was to get pet insurance for them. I didn't have it for my previous pug and I regret it to this day. Once my Piper and Phoebe became mine I signed up for Embrace Pet Insurance and have not regretted it once. Having pet insurance gives you the peace of mind to have your pet treated even in emergencies. Embrace Pet Insurance will always be in my budget. I know Piper will be well taken care of over the years to come. Get a quote today. It may seem high, but you can be assured it is worth the money...especially after its first use.

I was very nervous when I called. ( I had never before filed an insurance claim of any kind). By the end of that call I was laughing and joking with Dan. I went from defeated and fearful of what lay ahead for my dog to joyful that Embrace had proved such a good choice for us.

My adorable 2yr old cockapoo had two accidents which required emergency care. Of course, at the time, we’d do anything to help our special, beloved furry friend, even when you choke at the bill charged. Embrace couldn’t be better or easier. Submitting claims on line makes it quick and easy. Thankfully, my claims were reimbursed 80%, and checks arrived in less than two weeks! Far better and easier than the coverage I had with my other doggie! Yea, Embrace!

I have highly recommended Embrace Pet Insurance in the past because I've been with them since about 2007 happily, but in the last 2-3 years they keep making massive increases in our premium, but today was the WORST. I received my new premium amount for May - April 2024-25 and they up-rated me for ONE MASTIFF an additional $90.47 per month or $1085.64 for the year! I am now going to be paying $259.17 or $3,110.04 for the year IF I stay with them and do not decide to self-insure at this point. This is outrageous! Bastian just turned 7. Avoid this company. Embrace will intentionally lie and deceive their customers. My dog was seen at a vet for a possible ear infection on 12/4/2021. He was treated and released. My dog was taken to the vet on 2/18/2023 and I was told he is not covered because there is a 12 month waiting period. The gaps between the 2 vet visits is approximately 15 months which is much longer than the 12 month waiting period. Embrace is saying he wont be eligible for coverage until 2/18/2024. Also, my dog has a small mass on his chest his whole life which is roughly the size of a dime. This mass has remained the same size his whole life. I love Embrace. Indeed, my dog had an unexpected surgery after a complication from being neutered, at the same time that I had back surgery. Both surgeries were successful, but reimbursement from Embrace was a breeze, while dealing with my insurance company, not so much. Thankfully, I now have Medicare, but I recall sending a note to Embrace saying my only disappointment was that they didn't insure people. I would never go without insurance from Embrace for my dog. It just makes fet decisions so easy. Do what is best for the dog and don't worry about paying.

We’ve had Embrace for four years, never had a claim denied and every time we’ve submitted a claim it has been processed and any money coming back to us has been in our bank account within less than 5 business days. We love it!
