Embrace Pet Insurance Agency LLC is a pet insurance provider based in Cleveland Ohio that sells policies for dogs and cats. They were founded in 2003 and are underwritten by American Modern Home Insurance Company.

Embrace gets good marks from us mainly on the strength of customer satisfaction.

Even though plans are a little on the pricier side, and unlimited coverage is not an option, customer feedback is among the most positive.

Also, Embrace offers standard coverage of many conditions and treatments not offered at all by most plans. These include behavioral therapy and prosthetics.

Embrace sets itself apart from the pack in coverage because, in addition to providing for usual accidents and illnesses, the company also covers various items not traditionally offered under other companies' standard plans.

These include prosthetic limbs, behavioral therapy, and alternative treatments. Embrace also offers prescription drug coverage and a wellness plan at an additional cost.

As with all pet insurance plans, Embrace will not cover pre-existing conditions if they were apparent before the policy purchase.

The company enables their customers to choose annual deductibles of $100, $200, $300, $500 and $1000. They also offer a program called Healthy Pet Deductible.

Embrace's waiting periods are pretty much standard when compared to other companies.

For accidents and illnesses, the waiting period is 14 days. However, in some states, the waiting period for accidents is only 48 hours or two days.

There is an additional six month waiting period for dogs for orthopedic conditions, but there is an option to have this reduced to as little as 14 days.

Embrace will not allow pets older than 14 to enroll in illness coverage, which some other plans do.

Embrace has some of the best feedback we've seen when it comes to customer service.

The majority of online reviews mirror generally positive experiences. To make a claim you must fill out the claim form that was included with the enrollment email.

You can also download the form on the website or have it mailed to you. The form must be filled out by a veterinary staff member. Include all relevant invoices and receipts and fax or email them all to the company.

Embrace offers direct deposit to get you the reimbursement as quickly as possible. Furthermore, beginning recently, claim forms can now also uploaded through MyEmbrace, the company's online customer account.

We have been customers of Embrace since 2010 and couldn't be happier with the service we receive. Their contract of coverage is clear and concise - the legalese makes for several pages but it is easy to read. We couldn't be happier with it.

I filed a claim for my dog, Lizzy, and it was processed with payment sent to me in a remarkably short time. The vet told me that most companies would not cover the issue with my dog, but Embrace did. I am a USAA customer and this is an adjunct to our policy with USAA. I have told everyone I know about this company and will continue to do so.

I never had pet insurance in the past and decided to obtain it with Maddi after our previous lab tore her ACL. I am so glad I got it, as Maddi has had a health issue. Embrace has worked out great. Staff member I spoke with was very helpful and the claims are easy to complete and send in along with a copy of the vet bill. A satisfied customer

Embrace is the best. One of my pups had to have an MRI and then back surgery totaling nearly $9000 also had to go the emergency vet for a fish hook embedded in her foot in the same year. We were reembersed for all except the deductible. Without this we would have been faced with putting her down due to debilitating pain and eventually paralysis. My other one had his spleen removed due to hemangiosarcoma. He is still with us almost 6 months later thanks to a great emergency surgeon, and they would have paid for chemo, but we did not want to put him through that. I would not want to be faced with taking out a loan vs putting my dogs down, pet insurance is a must, and embrace is the best.... Read More

I am thrilled with the quick response from Embrace when I recently submitted my first claims for my kitty, Capriccio. Having never had pet insurance previously, I was not sure what to expect, but the process was very easy and the company was quite responsive. I am very glad to have insurance for Capriccio and will soon be adding my newest kitty, Aria, to the policy! Thank you for making it easier to take good care of my furry girls!

a lifesaver. my lab puppy needed surgery after eating makeup wipes. I was reimbursed promptly. I dont know how I would have been able to afford it without Embrace.

My dog unfortunately developed cancer and Embrace came through with prompt reimbursements for thousands of dollars for surgery and chemo. Without Embrace, my dog wouldn’t still be here. It’s reassuring to have a company like Embrace during a difficult time. They have been wonderful.

I am glad to have health insurance for my fur people, offered through a reputable company, USAA. Over the years I've added pets, and taken them off as they pass over the Rainbow Bridge. I would give Embrace a higher rating if the claims process could handle multiple office visits in a smoother fashion. I keep having to following up every time I get no response on anything beyond the second entry on the form.
