The worst home warranty program available. Submit a claim, pay the deductible, then they tell you that there's a $150 cap. See Section 10.1 in your agreement apparently. You report the problem, they choose the technicians, you can't shop around. Once the tech comes out, you then have to agree to accept their cap, pay the bill and send the invoice in, and they eventually send you a check for $150. Unless you think that you'll have at least 4 covered events per year of at least $195 each, you're signing up for their choice of technician, protracted service time, multiple phone calls, delays in recouping your $150, and an experience not worth any of the trouble. We cancelled it within the first two months. Its awful. We called for a leaking washer, the technician told that the seal is broken. Warranty said they will not cover. When we complained they did not resolve. On top of that they charged us a cancellation fee.
Select home warranty is a TERRIBLE company . I put in a claim in November for a dishwasher and never got a call back from select or a tech. I put in a claim 2 days ago about a washer and have been trying to contact someone about a scheduling. Given my previous experience I didn't want to wait . The consumer service has been horrible. Someone who identified herself as a supervisor hung on me and another left me on hold . They claim to have no idea who their CEO is. I am so unimpressed with this company .
Total Scam! I am still waiting on my refund from back in June. $250 paid with no services rendered. I didn't realize they were so unreputable that hvac, plumbers, etc do not accept their calls to take the service!
e signed up for policy. They guy told us we had to wait 30 days before we could file a claim. We waited until 5 days after we made the claim to make our claim. We were then told We then called on the 9th then they told us to call on the 10th. On the 10th that has been in since 6 and that we would receive a phone call or email. We waited to 11 and called again. They told us that since we put it on 6 it is now its existing claim and it wont be covered. We then asked for manager there was no manager and that we would have to call back on Monday. 15 minutes I called back and I get another supervisor who answered the phone. Filing a claim for my washing machine was pretty easy. I called Select Home Warranty and they sent a technician. They had given me four days before they can come see the equipment, but I had to call them to ask if they can make it faster and then they did. They ordered a part, it came in, then they fixed my washing machine.
the worst home warranty company I have ever experienced. our dishwasher went out late July. I filed a claim 07/22/2016. was given a claim number and told that I should be reimbursed $308.73 after paying $45.00 service charge. after much haggling and follow up I received a check for $183.73 on 12/05/2016. depreciation they claimed. save some money and save yourself some stress, DON'T deal with this company. they are shysters from the git-go. j glynn
This company is a scam stay away if you value your home and bank account. When I fist called they stated that the water heater was completely covered. When my water heater broke I called and was informed according to section 184.108.40.206.4. of subsection 3.3.3.in the fine print if the heater leaks its not covered. Anyone knows that not until a water heater leaks do you know something is wrong. Of course they offered to cancel my policy and refund a potion of the money I paid. This will happen with any claim you put in. Instead of fixing anything on the policy that might cost a lot of money they will just give you back a little part of the money you paid. Hello Consumers I just wanted to tell you that I bought 2 home warranty with this company. If you live in VA, be aware that they do not have good relationship with their vendors. I placed a call in Mid November 2016 and to date it has not been resolved. I had to get a repair person outside of this insurance but I got it fixed. I cancelled both contact today. i highly do not recommend this company if you are a Virginia Resident. Your fingers will definitely do all the walking. Don't be fooled or get swayed by their prices. You will get what you paid for. the other thing is that they will leave out to dry without any followups
They require three years of maintenance history. They did not cover any repairs over $400. If minor repairs is what u need this is the company but this is not a company that would cover Ac condenser replacement or water heater replacement. The supervisors are very rude and trained to not pay for needed repairs. They do everything from hanging up on customers to lying and miss leading them. Stay way! Even if it means paying more for another company. I made the mistake of buying a 2 yr plan. Once you pay for it you will not get a refund.
