In exchange for a $75 administration fee, they also offer a pro-rated refund if the initial 30 days have expired.

Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

I am only at the beginning of getting a claim covered. My outside ac unit quit working on a weekend. Since it's 90 here, I asked the rep to expedite my claim. I called Monday and was informed they couldn't locate a contractor in my area and I could hire one and get reimbursed if the claim was covered . The contractor I hired came the same day to diagnose and spoke with claims rep. The claims rep has forwarded to their approval dept and I will have an update by tomorrow morning. I'm very appreciative that I didn't have to wait for a contractor with no ac. So far 5 stars for the representatives helpfulness and courtesy.

I was very happy with the customer service when setting this up. He was accessible, explained the plan well, and gave a good discount. However, I am a bit suspicious that the fact that they immediately offer a free month in exchange for a review, before the customer has had a chance to actually use their services, is causing an inaccurately high rating for this company. Time will tell - I hope their ongoing customer service and care for issues matches the sales experience.
