For the sake of education and peace-of-mind, this company provides a sample contract and quote calculator on their website. In exchange for a $75 administration fee, they also offer a pro-rated refund if the initial 30 days have expired.

Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Thank you for your help today! The program scheduled me for an electrician when I needed a plumber. The customer service rep said he would change it to a plumber and said that I could schedule a plumber myself and ask for reimbursement.

Worst experience with any Home Warranty Company ever. Two claims, one for a water heater and one for a pool pump, both were denied - they do not cover leaks. Water heater leaked. They did not come out to determine what caused the leak, they just said they don't cover leaks! Pool pump had a small creak in the casing, was leaking. After a week of trying to negotiate with them to replace it, the whole housing blew up due to the pressure. Luckily no one was hurt. Their response, we don't cover leaks. So disappointed. WASTE OF MONEY!
