Home Service Club’s base-level 12 month home warranties start with a minimum annual premium of $400. Coverage is not dependent on a home inspection, and this price point is slightly on the higher side of the industry standard. With that in mind, they do offer a 30 day pro-rated cancellation policy, minus a $45 dollar administration fee.

Cancellation Policy

The customer may cancel the HSC service agreement for any reason within the first thirty 30 days following the date of purchase and shall be entitled to a refund of the paid contract fees less any service costs incurred by HSC and an administrative fee of up to $45. After 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fees for the unexpired term, less any service costs and an administrative fee of up to $45. This contract may be canceled by HSC for nonpayment of contract fee, fraud or misrepresentation by the customer, by agreement between client and company, or if the customer threatens to harm or does harm the safety or well-being of HSC, their property, employees or contractors. HSC may cancel the contract without reason at any time in the first 30 days following its effective date. If HSC cancels the contract within the first 30 days, the customer will not be charged an administrative fee and shall be entitled to a refund of the paid contract fees less any service costs incurred. If HSC cancels the contract after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fees for the unexpired term, less any service costs and an administrative fee of up to $45.

My installed microwave started sparking over three weeks ago and have recieved the run around ever since. Initially, I couldn't file a claim without the homeowner's inspection. Then every technician they had spoke with stated it needed replaced and that is not covered. I sent them a picture of their website stating repair or replace. Then they offered us $75 even though it is an expensive microwave. Eventually a supposed technician contacted us and immediately knew the problem but needed approval to order parts. The procedure was smooth from beginning to end after the problem was presented to the technician. He just went outside to get some needed parts and when he came back, he repaired it in just an hour.

Please believe reviews indicating that home warranty plans are essentially scams. I have had multiple of these home warranty plans over the years because I've owned rental properties. I've read some of the reviews below and they do not reflect reality. For example, the procedure used by HSC is that the repairman cannot fix anything until after being authorized. You submit a claim and a repairman comes to assess the problem after which HSC must authorize the repair prior to the repairman actually fixing anything. SCAM-THEY PAY FOR FAKE REVIEWS. We have diligently paid this company for 3 years and the first claim we make, we cannot reach anyone for a week and had to call and sit on hold for upwards of 20-30 minutes each call to finally reach someone. Most of the time, they do not answer and you receive an automated voicemail saying to please call back and that no one is available at this time. When you finally reach someone, they are rude, unapologetic, and just blame the previous rep for the mistakes on your work order. We never had our claim resolved & gave up after a week. It's one of the worst companies I have ever seen in the US. They charged me $650 for one year, but when my AC got a problem, it's about 3 months I was calling them, but nobody took care of it. And When I call them too talk to a supervisor, again the same agent answered me. The same person that for three months did nothing for me. Update 12/10/19: After I put this review, the supervisor called me and then send an email to me. Although the serviceman reported that just compressor has a problem that is about $500, but in their email, they told me "Your quote stands at $4,600 for FULL SYSTEM replacement."!!! I have had to call multiple times to get services. They condition you to answering whenever they want. I tried to call them for an evening (7:00 pm PST) service, only to get a guy who can’t, or won’t do anything for you. Tried calling the following day, and the next day and a week later and now it’s been moths and still no service. Don’t waste your money or time. This company is a fraud.

very poor service at least for me, tried for almost 2 months to get a covered repair no contractors will work with them they all said HSC and other home warranty companies don't pay them as they expect the contractor to fix the problem for the cost of your small deductible only. I had to fix it myself what a waste of money to pay this sham of a company for nothing.

I had heating system issue on my new purchase house . After a long wait they assigned technician .The technician didn't had a glance of the system and told us to replace it.He said the issue is rest rust and it needs to be replaced.HSC only offered to cover 20% of the cost.Then we brought another technician and fixed the issue in less than 20 mins.

I see there are only replies to the positive comments, but I hope someone from the company will contact me. In August 2019 my air conditioner stopped working. I put in a work request online, but didnt get an email confirmation so I called. The rep said the information was received and being processed. The next day I had to call to see who was assigned. I called the company and they stated there was an issue with the service request on Home Service Club's side. I called back to HSC who said they were updating the order. If it was possible to give zero stars I would. My AC broke during the hottest weekend of the year- I tried calling in but HSC is closed on the weekends. I chose to go outside of network in order to have the issue addressed immediately, as it was almost 100 degrees INSIDE. I felt that it was reasonable to get emergency work done and request assistance after. 2 months, 3 points of contact and 7 emails later I am told that there is no consideration for emergency services done outside of the policy.
