Home Service Club’s base-level 12 month home warranties start with a minimum annual premium of $400. Coverage is not dependent on a home inspection, and this price point is slightly on the higher side of the industry standard. With that in mind, they do offer a 30 day pro-rated cancellation policy, minus a $45 dollar administration fee.

Cancellation Policy

The customer may cancel the HSC service agreement for any reason within the first thirty 30 days following the date of purchase and shall be entitled to a refund of the paid contract fees less any service costs incurred by HSC and an administrative fee of up to $45. After 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fees for the unexpired term, less any service costs and an administrative fee of up to $45. This contract may be canceled by HSC for nonpayment of contract fee, fraud or misrepresentation by the customer, by agreement between client and company, or if the customer threatens to harm or does harm the safety or well-being of HSC, their property, employees or contractors. HSC may cancel the contract without reason at any time in the first 30 days following its effective date. If HSC cancels the contract within the first 30 days, the customer will not be charged an administrative fee and shall be entitled to a refund of the paid contract fees less any service costs incurred. If HSC cancels the contract after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fees for the unexpired term, less any service costs and an administrative fee of up to $45.

My cleaning lady loaded up a dishwasher as she usually does on Wednesdays when she comes. I know it's not her fault but the dishwasher would not drain after she ran the load. I checked to see if there was food in the drain and of course there wasn't. She always make sure the clear off the dishes before loading them in the dishwasher. She has been with our family for years. She called me at work to let me know. I enter the claim online. I receive a call 2 hours later from an appliance repair company to come and fix the dishwasher. On 11/8/2017 we contacted HSC for a broken washing machine, they got back with a recommended washer from Lowes. We were told they would send a credit card that was loaded with the correct amount to replace the machine but it would take an unacceptable amount of time until we would receive it. After getting approval for us to pay cash for the new machine we did. I followed all procedures (kept the emails saying the same) and was advised it would take 45 to 50 days for a check to be issued. With all the holidays coming soon i gave them some slack on the time. I kept a diligent lookout for the check to arrive but it never came. My experience with the Home Service Club was simple and easy. It was stress-free from start to finish. Our dishwasher wasn't working I'm so call that the home service Club you received a call that day and arrange for a visit the very next morning. The repair company showed up and completed the repair in one visit.

On 1/16 we filed a claim for our heating system which stopped coming on. On 1/18 the repair tech was out and working on it. It took him a while to figure out the issues and our space is tight so getting ot the system and working on it was difficult. Some board was found to be faulty which he called in and got approval to replace. The heating unit worked for a few days and stopped again and we called it in again. The same repair technician was dispatched and we all sighed when he got here remembering how difficult it was to work on this with the space here. I noticed that our garbage disposal was giving off a foul smell.I realized that it had to do with some of the remnants in the disposal and so I tried to clean it out. the smell never went away but then several days later I could not turn the disposal on. Although I flip the switch the disposal never turned on. I went online and found how to set up a claim with HSC. the process was fairly easy and straightforward.

From start to finish, it was a good experience. Firstly, the claims specialist was more than helpful in getting a technician out to my house quickly even with my busy work schedule. I had a problem with my washer not spinning. I tried somethings to get it to work, but to no avail. Once the technician came he was able to diagnose and fix the problem accurately. Washer spinning smoothly again.

This company is BEYOND TERRIBLE. They have not reimbursed several claims AFTER they were approved. Their wait times are horrible. They never return emails or calls. I would NEVER buy a contract from them again.
