Overall Rating: 2 / 5 (Poor)

Fidelity National's prices are inline with industry standards, though their service fees are slightly higher, and its guaranteed response time is a bit longer than that of other companies. We feel the need to mention that Fidelity National has been the target of a state insurance regulatory action and a class action suit, requiring that customers give up their right to a jury trial in any legal dispute.

Coverage Options - 3 / 5

Fidelity National covers many of the usual systems and appliances, as well as a few specialty items. However, coverage for refrigerators, washers/dryers, air conditioning units, pool and spa equipment and septic tank leaks and roof leaks are not part of the standard coverage, but must be purchased separately when the contract is signed. Unlike some other home warranty companies, the company does not cover system or appliance failures due to lack of maintenance.

Fidelity National is accredited by the BBB and has an A+ rating. It has four positive reviews and 112 negative ones and 549 customer complaints. However, it is not unusual in this industry for companies to have numerous negative customer reviews and complaints. The company has no presence on Trust Pilot. In 2012, the company settled a claim against it by the Insurance Commissioner of California which alleged that the company had unlawfully paid rebates and offered inducements to real estate brokers. The company agreed to cease and desist from the allegedly unlawful practices and paid a settlement of $1.25 million and attorneys fees of $175,000, but admitted no wrongdoing. In 2008, a class action suit was brought in California against Fidelity National which alleged false advertising and insurance bad faith. The case resulted in four separate appeals and was eventually refiled.

Fidelity has sent somebody to my home twice now and I am still with out HVAC for 36 days now. This company is the worst. It takes them forever to approve a claim, and then they have to order the parts from their special parts warehouse that is in another state. It takes forever for them to get the parts in. Any time you complain they state that it states their could be delays in their contract. We have blown past all of those timeframes. Still no Air conditioner. This company sucks run do not use them.

My washer broke. It is 12 years old. I called Fidelity and it took 3 weeks to get the first appointment, and the first tech said it was the drum, and he couldn't fix it because he is a one-man operation, and it takes 2 people. The second tech took 2 weeks to get here, and he said it was the drum support. He then declared it was caused by overloading the machine. No reason given as to how he came to that conclusion. No way to prove it, either, and probably no way to disprove it. And, naturally, overloading is not covered by the warranty. He said Fidelity would call me. Of course, they did not call me, and when I called them after 2 days of not hearing from them, I was on hold once for 40... Read More

Air Conditioner went out 3/9/21. A call was put in to Fidelity National Home Warranty company and "Right call Solutions" showed up on 3-16-21. Of course there was no solid time frame for the meeting of the tech. they called me the day of the appointment to let me know an approximate time of which they would be there??? (As if I have all day and an open schedule every day). The tech came out and stated the compressor was bad in the outside condenser, and that they would have to replace the compressor. I am still here on 4/2/21 (24 days later and still no scheduled date of repair). I was told that they order their compressors from some where else and it could be 5-7 days past the... Read More

Terrible Customer Service, Hit and miss subcontractors, many with no license. When you are unsatisfied with their service, they do nothing to make the customer happy and if you cancel your contract, they keep all you contract price to cover the shotty pats and service they provided. The comapy has no faith or honor backing their product/service. TERRIBLE COMAPNY! I DO NOT RECOMMEND! IACTUALLY GIVE ZERO STARS!

AWFUL. I have had home warranties with Fidelity for 3-4 years total since 2012 for 2 different properties. From 2012-2014 they were really good and would fix my issues. If their vendors didn't fix the original issue they would send a new vendor. Since I got their home warranty again in 2020 the customer service and vendors have been AWFUL. I am often on hold for long periods of time. In October 2020 I put in a service request and paid a $75 service fee to have my dishwasher fixed as it was not cleaning my dishes properly and the soap dispenser wouldn't dispense soap. Fidelity sent GE. The GE repairman came about 4 times and he never properly fixed the issue. Oddly every time he would come... Read More

I am writing this message on March 01, 2021 to documents my inability to to get a hold of anyone from FNHW. I live in Texas and have a current, active policy with FNHW. My policy expires on March 3, 2021. I am trying to renew this policy, as I have tried to place a claim for damage which is covered by this policy. The website will not allow me to process a claim, there is no email contact and the phone number disconnects me on each try I have made. I have not had problems with FHNW in the past, and I understand the workload due to the Texas crises we are facing. My policy ends in , last four digits of my phone number is . I fully intend to extend my policy for 2021. Please respond to me... Read More

Buyer Beware! Water Heater went out over the weekend and could not get service . I submitted a service request on Friday when we stopped getting hot water. On Saturday afternoon, water was pouring from the tank. Tried to revise my original service request with no success because I already had one request in for the water heater. Tried calling - no success. They have an emergency number, but their definition of emergency consist of not being able to reside in the house. This differs from my definition since we were able to still reside in the house. Ended up calling a local licensed plumbing company that came out on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and installed a new heater for... Read More

This is the worst company I have ever worked with. They have no accountability for their services. Their customer service is awful. It has been three weeks and our well pump is still not fixed with no end in sight. Average wait time to talk to someone who has no idea what they are doing is an hour and a half. Then, they either hang up on you or their computer system is down. There is always some excuse why they can't help you. What am I paying for? This company should be put out of business.

Do not use this company I’ve been in it waiting 10 weeks for a new oven. I’ve called over 15 times waiting over an hour half of the time… Nobody is in charge of making sure you claim is taken care of. I paid the service man directly $75 and they are saying I still owe money. Meanwhile they won’t honor my contract
