Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Lots of thing they do cover, but many important components and parts they don’t cover. They say it is in the contract and you are left with taking care of it yourself.

To get a quote, hou must fill out the online form. As soon as I filled outr the form, I got a call on my home phone, then my business phone "to Help me". I told them I am looking it over. they call again.. both phones "to Help me". I told them i know their phone number if I needed help. He said that if I didn't want to be called, I shouldn't have given them my number and that I was rude and he hung up on me. Then an e-mail came that said , Myles Reuben" was standing by waiting for my call, so I called and it was a Call Center, who connected me to a Voice Mail. This place seems to be a scam. Consumer Reports also says they will take your money and then find a reason not to pay.... Read More

I have to be honest and say Ive been extremely disappointed with CHW. I asked about this warranty prior to signing up bc I've had previous unpleasant experiences with home warranties. Specifically I have a repair, a tech is dispatched, and then informed that its not covered. Very disturbing. I shared this with CHW, and said is there any conditions that I should know about prior to signing up that are not covered? He clearly indicated to me that CHW was so different than these other companies. You pay your monthly premium of $40/month. You call in the repair and you pay $45 when they come out and the service and parts are covered. Again sir I dont want any surprises stating "I'm sorry... Read More

I do not have a helpful message for you. Your company is glad to take my money at the beginning of the contract. but, there is always some loophole or clause that gets you people off the hook and I'm sick and tired of this cowardly actions. You don't take care of your customers. I personally believe that you don't want to take care of any body except yourselves. I WILL NOT renew my business with you in the fall of this year. I gave you 1 star in the rating system...hell, you didn't deserve one star when it came to my problem.

My tenant had a clogged pipe and after failed attempts to repair by my handyman, I called Choice. I placed the call on Tuesday & service was scheduled for that Friday. The technician was prompt & professional and got the job done. He explained the problem and also made some recommendations to avoid similar problems in the future. I am very pleased with my first experience with Choice and I'm glad I can be assured that they are literally just a phone call away !

Was not happy with what happen firth I was told I had to pay for only one call but then had to pay for two he didn't fix any thing which i though he would do stayed home the day for nothing know I have to wait for you to make up your mind if it can be fixed then another call waiting all dayif you can fix it adding to I'm out $60.00 which i should not have to pay I'm not happy with your service.
