Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

My experience yesterday was not satisfactory. The technician who fix my air conditioned told me that you have not approved the work due to the fact that I had not given "maintenance" to the ac and therefore, It was up to me to pay him his invoice. I was very upset and called Choice and was told that the invoice was in a process of reviewing. Later I received an email from you stating that you had authorized the payment. Please check on your insurance.

I had to call Choice 3 times to ask about my claim. Then, I called and they told me what they could give as a replacement dollar! I was absolutely upset when they said the offer was!!!! I said absolutely no way was it acceptable. Then she came back and said the best they could do was like $229.99!! I would like to know WHERE we can but a dishwasher for that amount!!!!! The best I can find was on sale for $329.00, which was just the dishwasher, not the connections that you also have to purchase. I would LOVE a response to this!! I purchased my home August 2017, shortly after I needed to use the warranty on my home for my plumbing. The person I spoke with was professional on the phone and helpful. Unfortunately the claim I made was for my plumbing and it turned out that the warranty did not cover snaking through the roof which was the service that I needed. I had to pay the 45.00 service fee, I called CHW c/o of the situation and how now I was out of 45.00 and my plumbing was still not working. The person I spoke with told me that they would credit me 45.00 because my problem was not fixed. I then asked for a copy of what the warranty fixed to be mailed to me. This is my first claim, and so far it has been most disappointing. After calling and setting up a time to repair my Jeenair stove, Davis Appliances arrived a day early. I was out of town, but my wife was home, after playing the fee of $45.00 in cash, Davis could not give a paid recite. After several days I called Choice to find out where we were. Waited 23 minutes for someone to answer the phone. Was told they had not heard from Davis Appliances, put me on hold to call Davis. Was not able to make contact, but assured me I would hear from Choice the next day. Have called and tried to use Choice twice. Never helped us out with one cent! Last call 5/18, we had to pay a double service charge. One to Choice Warranty, and one to the tech they sent who we had fix the air conditioner. Total waste of $1700.00. We have sold the house and I am going to ask for a partial refund, we will see how that goes, we have 4 years remaining.
