Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I was having issues with my air-conditioner and called CHW, they sent Wayne to repair my air-conditioner. Wayne came in quickly fix the problem and had my air-conditioner up and running in no time. Thanks Wayne for your honesty and great expertise.

Your staff was very helpful and got an appointment right away. The company you sent was excellent, they squeezed us in two days ahead of the appointment because of my husband's health issues. Don't use this company. Its a scam. They took my money and not cover a thing. If you have an old home with any rust in your systems they will use that excuse not to cover it. I have lost $600 from paying for the service and with just one claim that my AC not working they will not fix it. Unbelievable!! I will look for a lawyer to sue this horrible company that stole from me.

Unfortunately, my experience was not a pleasant one. The independent contractor that was sent to my residence was over an hour late the first day and didnt show the second day to complete the job. He had already been paid and when I contacted Choice, a customer service representative initially told me I would have to pay the service fee again. That was totally unacceptable.I then requested to speak with a supervisor and he told me there wasnt one available. Totally unacceptable. While my AC going out may not have been a priority for Choice it was one for me.
