Our Overall Rating: 4.6 / 5 (Excellent)

Choice Home Warranty offers a full array of home appliance and systems coverage at a competitive price. The company offers two plans for existing home owners —Basic and Total. In addition to a monthly premium, customers can expect to pay an $85 service fee each time they make a claim, which falls in low-to-mid range when compared to other home warranty companies.

You can submit a claim 24/7, including holidays, via phone, online, or app. The company utilizes proprietary technology to begin the dispatching process after a claim is filed. The company has recently updated their plans increasing coverage and has fewer limitations. Their plans and optional coverage can cover over 25 major systems and appliances.

Choice Home Warranty earns a B rating from the Better Business Bureau and has a positive rating on Trustpilot, but in this industry, negative customer reviews far outnumber positive ones.

Coverage Options - 4.5 / 5

Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

I can't say enough good things about Choice Warranty. Every time that I have called them. The service people who came out were very courteous and fixed the problem. They even cleaned any mess they might have had to make. I have used Choice at least four times and never had any problem. I have recommend them to my friends.

Out of all the guys you have ever sent to my home for repairs, Patrick with Collins Comfort Solutions is by far one of the best Residential and Heating guys in the area. Excellent customers and a friendly smile. I know I'll request him in the future and refer him to all my family and friends in the Charlotte area. Thank you

Service tech turned dryer on, felt some heat and said, “it’s not the heating element. He then pulled dryer out and saw lint on the floor. Told me he doesn’t clean, only repairs. He did ask for my vacuum cleaner and sucked some lint from the connector hose. He did not check the inside thermostat or calibrate the heat.

You have to remember that because the deductable is only $45, you are usually going to get new or smaller firms to service you. Plus if your home is in a rural area, it's pretty tough to get a service call. It's a nice security blanket for appliances in your home that BREAK - They have to be completely broken to get service. . We have over (10) contracts & have yet to have anything related to air conditioning covered; yet conversely heat is usually covered. A leaking hot water heater is excluded, but if the heating element is burned out, it's covered. Basically, it's a nice base contract, but do not expect it to be as good as one that costs twice as much. It's like insurance -- how... Read More

So far I’ve had about 4 occasions to call CHW and each time I received great customer service and got assigned a technician either the same day or the next day. Each time the issues were resolved.

It still takes to long to get A claim number. 37 minutes. I was transferred 3 times had long waits with each one. Finally got someone who could help and would not talk so fast I could understand. Don't like the fact I had a deduction for getting my service man out to fix my air conditioner. I do not want 2 days for you to find out he is the man you would have sent. Living with a house that was 80 degrees already for that long would not have been fun. The way you handle claims is terrible. Lila Acker 580 320 5765
