Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

This is the third home I have had with CHW. Their reaction time is excellent, and they always follow up. The employees are cheerful, and the contractors they use are equally polite. I will always have a contract with them, and recommend them to anyone!

I think that the amount you wanted to pay towards our repair was ridiculous the bill was going to be around $540.00 and you were going to pay a total of 81.00 plus I was going to pay the copay of 45.00. Would you be satisfied if you were in my place. Not happy !!!

It was a hassle all the way for them to get a company to come out and check out my water well only to find out all the items they don’t cover after 2 weeks of hassle they could’ve told me up front beings how I talked to several folks over the phone with Choice now i have to call my own water well company to come out and fix because they kept sending just a plumbing company out not a water well company. Been a customer for around 2 years oh well guess you live and learn and yes I know I should’ve also read what all they covered but I talked to I know atleast 3 choice customer reps you would think they would’ve told me that and also if that’s all they cover why send a plumbing company out to... One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Was supposed to have covered my heat pump but wouldn't pay a penny. Had them for years. Even the Co that put in the new heat pump kept sending them paperwork but they refused to pay one dime on the $5200 heat pump.

In this difficult time of hiding from Covid 19, a customer of this company would think that they would go above and beyond customer service. Not the case. My washer has been broken for 3 weeks and instead of allowing the technician to purchase from anywhere we have to wait. No washer in a time of closed laundry mats and unable to go to another place. We will not renew and suggest anyone run to another company

I was told I couldn't see all your exceptions until I signed up and had 30 days to change my mind. Signed up this morning. First thing I noticed is that you don't cover heat pumps!! My furnace is a heat pump. So I have called over 10 times to cancel today only to be disconnected or connected to a busy type signal. I left Frances who was my representative a message but he never got back to me either. If this is indication of how this company I'm glad I'm canceling. How do I do that , sure quick to sign up but then nothing 😠

I've been with CHW for two years and this is the first time I've had to use it. Looks like I made a good choice. The communication was excellent and very timely. Service was the next day and the tech that came out was very impressive with his work, knowledge and ability to answer my questions. He saw what had to be done, got it okayed with CHW within minutes, went out and got the parts he needed and then came back to do the work. He spent about an hour here and was very thorough. Told me what he was doing and why, showed me the old parts that were no good anymore, and the new parts he put in.
