Their plans offer protection against the cost of repair or replacement of major systems and appliances in the home via several plans. Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I have been treated terrible. Still owed $200 from 3 years ago. Offers when refrigerator went out[cost $2600] was for $986. Far below what the re placement cost. Latest episode, stove wouldn't work, contracter said no problem to replace part which was defective. Then Choice Care refused to cover claim, due to other than normal wear. First, the range is 22 years old, 2nd I have 2 ovens, side by side and the 2nd one on left was almost never used. 3rd I have been given 7 days to appeal decision but unless I know why the claim was denied, I have no way to argue for a reversal of the claim. Oris the technician was very courteous and fixed issue right away, however….The technician lives in Chicago! My home is in Indianapolis, 3 hours away! When I originally bought this policy I was told by the salesman that there would be LOCAL repairmen…Chicago is NOT local. The claim was submitted on 01April 2024…I did not see technician til 09April 2024. This is definitely NOT the service I paid for, or WAS PROMISED. And my friend only has to pay $75 service call fee! I’m a senior citizen and also a Delta Air Lines retiree and that was where I found this companies name. I will not give you a good review with Delta .

I received an email from Choice saying I missed my repair, I called Ikmar Plumbing to find out how I missed the visit as I was home all day, they said they had not received any referral from Choice for me. I called your customer service ref. claim # 235465094 and was told that they would send another email because they could not get through on the phone. I wish you would follow-up on your referrals, to insure that referrals were received. I would also like to know if I should be calling your vendors to follow-up on you. NOT HAPPY. Darrell

When you are told a microwave is going to be replaced and then less then 5 mins. that is retracted?? I have a problem with that especially since a microwave is $199!!!!!!
