Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! this company should be shut down for taking peoples money! called on my refrigerator because it was making a noise. paid the fee only to find out they DENIED the claim. Why??? this is the statement on my policy: "This Agreement covers one (1) refrigerator located within the kitchen of the covered home. This Agreement covers all modules, components and parts of the refrigerator necessary to the functionality of the refrigerator. " Its is the compressor making the noise, but in the fine print it says they do NOT cover sealed components which is the compressor!!! This is the worst warranty company that I have dealt with. First they charge you upfront the full amount and then they tell you that they have to wait for 30 days before coverage begins! So they keep your money & you do not have coverage. No other warranty company I have dealt with does this. Every company I have dealt with will enroll you & give you a policy number, but you can only raise a claim after the activation date (30 days) & they charge you only on the date of activation! Secondly, after submitting a claim, it took more than 20 days to get me a vendor to conduct the service. Recently switched from a competing home warranty company to Select Home (SH) based on the promotional price they were offering. My kitchen sink recently clogged (over a week and a half ago), one thing to note is that they give themseleves up to 48hrs just to process your claim and then an additional 48 to find a contractor. I submited my claim on Monday 3/29/21, after 24 hrs I called to see when the plumber would be coming. I was informed they were struggling to find one but that they had up to 48hrs to do so. Please don't waste your money on Select Home Warranty. Their slick sales reps are very nice to you while they remove your money from your pocket but wait until you have to submit a claim. Then you will find out about their ridiculous caps on repairs based on the depreciated value of your appliance. Let me start out by saying the address listed for this business in NJ is empty!! I called the Sheraton where the office is located and spoke to two employees of the hotel. They just lease an office no one is home!! Do a search on the BBB website - literally OVER 6000 complaints. What a horrible, horrible company. I can only assume the positive reviews on here are from bots or paid posters. As soon as I signed the contract, I could not get anyone with answers on the phone. Supervisors were always in a meeting. My point of contact was always out of the office. My claims were denied. I sat on hold for HOURS. Emails went unanswered. They took my money and gave me nothing in return. When I canceled my contract there were a variety of fees that appeared. Do not under any circumstances go with this warranty company. They are thieves.

The company is NOT honest to tell you about all the details up from, after you signed up and try to file a claim they will start giving you surprises. They delined my claim and I feel it was not reasonable so I tried to cancel it after two months then they told me there will be multiple charges if I consist to cancel. BE CAREFUL!!!!

Terrible! It’s all roses until you actually need something fixed. They can’t find a technician because nobody will deal with them. So you have to get your own and pay them out of your pocket. Then SHW tells you they will only pay a small percentage because your appliance has depreciated in value. Outrageous. We have been burned 6 times. Lied to and given the runaround. Do not buy this worthless warranty insurance. I bought a 6 year contract. Big mistake. Take your money and put it in your bank. Not theirs.
