For the sake of education and peace-of-mind, this company provides a sample contract and quote calculator on their website. In exchange for a $75 administration fee, they also offer a pro-rated refund if the initial 30 days have expired.

Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement. The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract. After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Just signed up with Select Home Warranty after researching various companies online. The online estimate and sign up process was hassle free and easy to understand. I received a call within 20 min from a representative ready to answer any questions and even offer me an additional discount. I'm looking forward to the peace of mind of having coverage with Select as the company I previously had a home warranty with was more expensive and lacking in coverage and customer service.

I would give them a zero star if I could! I extremely suspect how they could get these five star reviews? Their service is terrible and they can find any excuse to not pay your covered items. My HVAC condenser wasn’t work well and it was covered by my policy; but since I had a Freon leaking before so even I had my unit cleaned & serviced twice a year and the technician told SHW’s agents that The condenser is just normal wear, SHW still connected these two things together and used this as an excuse to denied my claim. I had four rental house with them, and I paid three-year contract fee around $4,000/for 3 years with them . I had lots of other bad experience with them, during the first... Read More

I called them twice. Both times they gave me Ash Appliance Repair who could not get the parts and would not return my phone calls for 11 days. I paid out of my pocket a dryer reoairman who got the part at Home Depot & fixed it the same day. If you live in Los Angeled, do not use Select Home Warranty!

The worst ever warranty service you can get... I’ll tell you to stay clear of this company... they promise to replace whatever goes out then when things do they avoid at all cost to get that done for you, then refer back to policy! When policy wasn’t a conversation to when they promise to get thing replaced for you in initial phone conversation to get the warranty with them... so if I could give anyone any advice is to not and I repeat.... “DO NOT” get home warranty with this company!! Every reason to not have to pay to replace what’s gone out.. then everything is prorated.. so mind you nothing gets replaced, might cut you a small check of value of the item that went out...
