Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I'll tell you this...I called and read the reviews of 4 other home warranty companies and because of your reviews and if I paid for 5 years I would get the 6th year for free...AND the 7th year and forever I would be locked in to my price, I WAS SOLD! Everything in my home works perfectly and I hope I don't have to call you, but it's nice to know that you will be there if I do! Oh, and 1 more thing...I was told that if I ever wanted to leave, my money would be prorated and I would only pay for the days that I used the service...that was the ace in the bucket, only a reputable company could give that guarantee, thanks for the peace of mind!

The last time I called the Rep had no personality and never told me that putting new faucets was not covered. Also the plumber came with this helper to my home filthy as could be and was on a long hold time for over an hour, never did get through. Needless to say that for the walk in rate I paid all I had done was unclogging of a sink.

I called on Tuesday afternoon with problems with my garbage disposal. By Wednesday morning I had an appointment with someone coming to my home on Thursday. The company called and said they could be there Wednesday evening instead if that worked for me!! They showed up when they said with a call first and replaced by disposal and were out the door within 1/2 hour!! Great service from Choice and Great service from the company they sent. Thank You!!

Had problem with leaking toilet. Contacted Choice at 730am . About 15 minutes later I had an appointment with a vendor for that day. By 3pm that afternoon the problem was fixed. Excellent thank you choice. Also excellant vendor. Problem solved in record time.

I had a small gas leak in my range and the technician worked for almost 4 hours to get it repaired. It only cost me $65 to get it fixed and I know if I had to call out a repair person myself it would've been way more.

This is a preliminary rating until I have an opportunity to utilize the claim process again. I will say that the pricing seems better than most just make sure you read the details about coverage some appliances have a cap for a claim per year. The waiting time to reach a representative is horrendous I called 4 times and each time my wait was 30 - 60 minutes to actually speak to a representative. I did file a claim and it was paid I’m just waiting for the parts to come in so the technician can fix the appliance. The overall claims process is smooth as long as you don’t have to call them.

I was very pleased with the way customer service gentleman tried to help me. He offered me a really good deal but I just didn't have the money at the time. I did end up buying a plan. I think it's going to work out great for me.
