Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Great experience. One phone call was all I needed to have the problem reported and activated. The vendor was notified and I was advised by email. Service was performed and I simply paid the $60.00 service charge. Problem resolved..

Service was good the plumber was very helpful in explaining what was needed. The only waiting time was Choice retuning the approval for him and myself, for him to to finish the task. Also I will be reviewing your coverage for other services before calling due to Choice didn’t cover the sink strainer that attaches to the sink and the pipes underneath. I was told by Choice I would have to cover separate.

I paid my coverage for warranty, I paid 45.00 for service fee, when heating tech got to my home he couldnt find out what the problem was for my furnace not heating and blower motor not turning on he told me I had a bad Thermostat and thermostat is not covered under choice, well I told him that I just replace the thermostat about aweek ago, than he told me That I must of hook it wrong, not hard to set up a thermostat all instructions are in the pamphlet, and every thing works just except for the heater. well he didnt fix cause he couldn't find the problem. Choice service was adequate the plumber was great.I had to wait three days for service. I reported needing service on a Thursday afternoon. Service was provided on Monday. My concern is if this had been a bad leak would I have still have had to wait three days for service. Other warranty providers have not had me wait that length of time. I have concerns.
