Our Overall Rating: 4.6 / 5 (Excellent)

Choice Home Warranty offers a full array of home appliance and systems coverage at a competitive price. The company offers two plans for existing home owners —Basic and Total. In addition to a monthly premium, customers can expect to pay an $85 service fee each time they make a claim, which falls in low-to-mid range when compared to other home warranty companies.

You can submit a claim 24/7, including holidays, via phone, online, or app. The company utilizes proprietary technology to begin the dispatching process after a claim is filed. The company has recently updated their plans increasing coverage and has fewer limitations. Their plans and optional coverage can cover over 25 major systems and appliances.

Choice Home Warranty earns a B rating from the Better Business Bureau and has a positive rating on Trustpilot, but in this industry, negative customer reviews far outnumber positive ones.

Coverage Options - 4.5 / 5

Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

choice sent me a confirmation of my appointment. my husband waited no one showed up. Choice did not sent him my address like they’ were suppose to. Then he wanted to make sure choice would pay him with a credit card right away because. he said it hard to get them to pay. This is the second time I have had someone come out and it’s been very awful. First guy was a roofer and he walked on my pool cover and his leg fell into the pool, then he said for him to fix my roof he needed his truck in my back yard. I’m not happy

We strive to provide the best customer experience, therefore, we regret to hear that you had a less than satisfactory experience with us. A onetime free service call fee has been placed onto your policy, in hopes that your next experience with Choice Home Warranty meets your expectations. We humbly request that you update your star rating to satisfactory. Kind Regards, CHW

The e-mail ad said the 1st month was free but my debit card has already been charged. Why do I get the feeling this is a scam. I should of known something was odd with the 20 phone calls I received.

Working with Choice Home Warranty is a breeze! The technician was very courteous and contacted us several times. He gave us a 2-hour window the day of service and he texted us when he was on his way. He was very knowledgable, showed us step by step what he was doing, and made several suggestions about how to use our washer more effectively. Problem solved!

Claim process was very difficult and agent assigned to my case was not nice and did not return phone calls. Contract is very tricky and worded in ways that makes a claim hard to get covered. I have a home warranty for a reason...so I do not have to pay for repairs. Why do I have to pay $550 for my AC repair?

March 2019, had an issue with my toilet tank bolt falling out, the people I talked with on this issue became a debacle, was ultamately to rec' a refund. Talking with several different people in your company on this I got many different answers, point is you need to go back to school to learn communication and peope skills or listen to Maurice Wilkenson on how to. Employees '0' Mr. Wilkenson '10'! Thank you sir for helping me!

I called on a Monday and by Wednesday I had a new garbage disposal. I purchased the home warranty because I was new to the area and didn't know who I would call in case I needed repair work. I had the warranty for several months when my disposal quit. Filing the claim was easily done on line. I received a call from the repair service within 24 hours to set the appointment time. The service repairman was professional and finished in less than an hour. So far so good with Choice Home Warranty.

I like your service but i feel that the service for fixing my plumbing problem should have been taken care of by CHW. I had to pay Pruitt Plumbing $575.00 to dig a small hole and replace a joint on my outside faucet.. I felt it was very extreme.
