Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Received appointment 2 hours after submitting request online. Technician arrived early next morning to repair the dryer. From initial request to repaired dryer was less than 18 hours.... wow! Best home warranty company yet, and I’ve had a few over the past 20 years. Fast, efficient, and affordable with super customer service! Highly recommended here.

Run Run - Do NOT waste your money and time with the company. Their sales people are excellent, HOWEVER, they will NOT pay your claims. Of if the do offer a $250 courtesy payment it will be hundreds and thousand below of what should have been paid. This company is a FRAUD. Read the BBB report - shocked, wish I had done so before I paid for 2 Home warranties. The attorney general needs to investigate this company. They will charge you to cancel the policies also!!

Well, I just paid to become a CHW customer and I am hoping the start of the contract will begin soon. I have used two other home warranty companies over the past two years and expect better performance and coverage with CHW. Agent Adrian Saunders was very helpful and followed through with me. He was knowledgeable of the CHW plans and convinced me to switch.

I tried to rate 3 stars, but 3 1/2 was as low as it would allow me to go. The rep I spoke with was very nice, but a little too high pressure and gave in without checking reviews as I should have. At first I told her I wanted to do that first, but she talked me in to signing up then. That should have been a red flag. Afterwards I looked at reviews outside your website and they were awful. I’m now sure that’s why she rushed me into a decision...I hope I’m wrong. Also, as friendly as she was in the beginning, once I gave her my card info I felt she was rushing me off the phone although I still had questions. I feeling worried about my decision, but at least I’m not in a contract... Read More
