Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I recently purchased a home that was built in 1996. Beautiful home but I knew it was older and repairs would come soon. The home owner purchased the premium plan and it has worked in my favor majorly. I’ve reported 3 claims and there was no problem getting the things fixed. 1st repair was in April 2019 for a garage button repair, 2nd repair was for the air compressor going out in August 2019. It took over 2 weeks but I received a new compressor and I only paid the $65 service fee which I’m beyond thankful! 3rd repair was in September 2019 for garbage disposal replacement. Scheduled a repair on my ac unit. Service tech came out and fixed ac unit. Worked for one day and is not working again. Hope to get situation resolved without paying for another deductible being it was serviced 24 hours ago.

Mr. Oscar Arevalo with Premier HVAC Mechanical, Inc. responded to my home today and replaced the "Blower Motor" in our air condition unit. The A/C stopped working yesterday afternoon. I filed my claim with Choice Home Warranty after 9:00 PM on September 26, 2019. Your company assigned my claim to Premier HVAC within hours. The owner, Oscar came out to our home and fixed our problem in less than a day's time. Hat's off to Choice Home Warranty and to Premier HVAC for on overall splendid service experience. I am disappointed in the fact that Choice will not cover my A/C unit which is part of the normal wear and tear. I have reached out to my attorney and provided him with the contract as well as a statement from the A/C technician. I am hoping to have this resolved before the end of the day. I will take the matter with the attorney next week if we haven't reached an amicable solution.

I gave them 5 stars only because of the last two experiences which were very good. I Have used my warranty now 4 times. First time was on a dishwasher where the motherboard died. They determined it was more costly to repair it so they offered me $199. This was not enough so after several conversations they raised their offer to $299, which I accepted. This first experience was 3 stars at best. The second claim was our former refrigerator. The freezer stopped freezing. Took forever to get a tech out and we lost some groceries in the process. First repair lasted about a week. And it went down again. This time we decided to buy a new refrigerator. Claim three was our washing machine... Read More

I had original signed up with Choice Home Warranty, but the same day changed my mind. They had already billed my account. I spoke to three people, 2 times was disconnected. The third person gave me a very difficult time when I requested cancellation of my policy. Repeatedly asked me why I wanted to cancel. I repeated multiple times that I just wanted to cancel and he continued to refuse my request. I informed him his behavior was very poor customer service. This went on for about 10 frustrating minutes and after demanding that my policy be cancelled, the man responded that my policy is cancelled and my payment would be refunded in 30 days. I would never want to deal with this company again.
