We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I appreciate that Choice Home Warranty is committed to resolving any problem with covered items. There were a couple of hiccups with my last service request that were resolved. The issue was not with CHW but with the contractor who failed to communicate next steps in the repair process. CHW sorted it out and the issue has been satisfactorily resolved.

I received quick response for a service call, however the tech was not able to complete the repair during that call and told me he needed approval from Choice Warranty to come back and complete the work. That was several days ago and I have not heard anything yet he had me pay the service charge prior to him start in the service. So until the work is completed, I’m not satisfied.

They cover next to nothing. For example, we have mold on our bedroom drywall left from the previous owner and they refused the claim to take care of it. A health concern and they don’t care. Something we have no control over, not our fault in anyway, and yet we are going to have to pay for it. There are several other claims they have denied as well. We have the “ultimate” package, yet they still deny claims. This was something purchased by the previous owner as part of the purchase deal. If I had known then what I know now, I would have told the previous owner to go through a different home warranty company or we aren’t buying the house.

When I put the first problem I was having at my house and have to say we had a bumpy start, but Choice told me they would make it right and they went out of their way to make it right - my opinion is that this is a stand-up company, and I can totally recommend choice warranty

I just subscribed to the home warranty offer. No even started and Sales Manager that contacted me was not clear on the offer when I asked for clarifications; this is about the AC damper motors coverage that American Home Shield covers for the same $55/month price where as Coice Warranty includes in the excluded paragraph. When I requested the written clarification, the assigned Sales Manager (Daniel Beatty) tried to accociate the Damper Motors and Valves to the next sentence that was refering to the components covered by Manufacturer Warranty.
