Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Choice Home Warranty is a joke! The reimbursement I was offered was an insult. The original amount was $191.00 which after complaining was raised to $208.00. After deducting $85.00 for a service call I netted $123.00 toward an appliance that cost nearly $400.00 to have replaced and installed. What a rip off! I can assure you everyone I know will be told farce this warranty company is.

I would not recommend Choice to anyone of my family or friends. I be with out heating for 12 days and after 11 days a technician came about 9:40 pm and said they after Oder a part that should take 2 days to get, I still didn’t hear anything about the part and Choice didn’t evening get back to me and let me know what going on.

The tech was great! Friendly, wore his mask, did good work. The company, however... I was called at 7:00 pm the night before the appointment and told they schedule differently, so they changed the appointment CHW made. And they only take cash or checks. I haven't used a check in over 5 years and didn't think I had any, so was told I have to pay cash. But "maybe" I could use a credit card if I paid a service fee. Ok, that's their policy, and knowing that, I wouldn't use them. But CHW uses them. Regardless,I should have been called to reschedule much sooner than 7:00 pm the prior night (some of us have to notify work to be out) and I would've been able to get some cash. Choice warranty is not the company for us! Every claim that we file has been denied by the company. Every service request that we call about is surprisingly excluded from our coverage . The customer service agents have been AWFUL. No one wants to take the time to assist with our concerns. We have thrown away money paying trade call fees and still have to resort to contacting other companies to fix our problems. I have been trying to cancel my service and receive a portion of the money we paid for the service and the customer service agents will not direct me to the proper place to handle this matter. The process to file a claim online was very easy and convenient. The quick response to my claim and then selecting a technician to come out was super quick and beyond my expectations. However I was not completely happy with the selected technician.
