Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

This is the first claim I’ve submitted. I was very pleased with the efficient and quick service provided by Choice Warranty. The service appointment was set up quickly. And my repair was completed in 2 days! My technician was pleasant and did a great job! He knew what he was doing. Very professional!

Sales reps always make promises they don’t keep! Even sell the wrong policy or try to trick you into “thinking” you’re getting a coverage that they never actually put in writing!

Angela Green was excellent when it came to my appeal. She listened to me & got another technician out to my house the same day. That technician diagnosed my issue & fixed the issue. Angela reached out to me Friday of that same week,like she said she would,to make sure I was satisfied with everything.

Had an issue with the dishwasher. Called for service . The appointment was 20 days out from when I contacted Choice. Technician came out determined that the problem was partial blockage in the discharge line. Next time we used the dishwasher same problem ie the dishwasher wouldn’t drain the water. Had water in hardwood floor that caused cupping on 3 boards. Called Choice again for service. Again appointment out for 12 days from call. This time the technician determined that the drain pump and control board were defective. Parts ordered and technician to install parts out for another 17 days. Larry did well in explaining what service I will received signing up with CHW. I was convinced to sign up for a year of service then he asked me if there are seniors in the household, and if there is, they have a six year service where I would save more money. I'm happy that he did that, so I signed for 6-years service.
