Choice Home Warranty is a New Jersey-based company founded in 2008 which offers services contracts. Their plans offer protection against the cost of repair or replacement of major systems and appliances in the home via several plans. Each plan also offers optional coverage for septic systems, pools /spas, well pumps, sump pumps, central vacuuming systems, limited roof leaks, second refrigerators, and standalone freezers.

Was able to file a claim for washer through automated response system. Appointment scheduled for next day. Repair guy came on time and fixed it. Thanks
Service technician Ben Earnhardt arrived well ahead of the scheduled time and quickly diagnosed and repaired my microwave oven. He explained the problem to me and demonstrated the cause of the failure. Ben was courteous and friendly.
Over the time we have had choice their way to file a claim is very easy. They do review things and get back to you for quickly. One area though that they do not cover is garage door damage. Recently the spring on our door broke due to life. Well Choice program only covers the garage door motor and nothing about the door. After some reading of the policy the actual definition could be re-worked. We did submit a claim to hopefully have it approved, but it was not. We have been paying just under $40 bucks a month to have coverage. The total cost of repairs to our garage door was just under $1600. This is the reason for 3 stars. Although the repair went fine, the slightest misunderstanding on the part of CHW, turned this simple repair into hours and hours of unnecessary "red tape" aggravation that was way too time consuming and aggravating. Your staff needs better training.
I recently attempted to use my warranty to cover a broken spring on my garage door. I put in a claim, and researched that they only cover the garage door opener. The cost to repair my spring and some damage from the door falling was $1518. Choice did review my claim and denied it. It would be nice if this would be reviewed to cover more areas considering we have been a customer since 2016
Although it seems to take awhile for a service repair to be completed it does.Choice has covered the cost of a new central air and heating system. We did have an out of pocket expense of about 1800 dollars due to some upgrade that the policy didn't cover. Our unit was 20 years old so age doesn't matter as long as you keep up with the regular seasonal maintenance. That's alot cheaper than 6800 dollars .Our oven needed an electric igniter ,I just had to pay my deductible. I was with prior warranty company until I joined Choice in January of 2021. So for us Choice has saved us at least 5000 dollars in less than a year. So for the time it takes for service providers to actually get the job... Read More
