Choice Home Warranty is a New Jersey-based company founded in 2008 which offers services contracts. Their plans offer protection against the cost of repair or replacement of major systems and appliances in the home via several plans. Each plan also offers optional coverage for septic systems, pools /spas, well pumps, sump pumps, central vacuuming systems, limited roof leaks, second refrigerators, and standalone freezers.

He was very timely getting to us and thorough in his assessment of the problem with our furnace. Also, very professional, knowledgeable and nice to deal with.
Had a difficult time with automated system. The live person was helpful. She had difficulty hearing me for some reason. The overall experience was alright. We will see with the follow through. Responsive and overall good.
I find this home warranty program one that is eager to take my monthly payments yet denies any claim I make for service. At this juncture, I am seeking a different home warranty company and again request that my contract with Choice Home Warranty be canceled immediately. I am tired of paying for you to find ways not to assist me.

Cory from Optimal Pool Solutions was excellent. He quickly diagnosed the problem -- the breaker to the pool pump had broken from repeated use and it needed to be replaced. He did temporarily wire the pump into the breaker for the refrigerator and lights in the pool house to make sure how the pump worked. He determined that the pump itself also needed a new seal. Choice Warranty does not earn 5 stars, however, because they authorized only the replacement of the pump seal and denied any electrical work. The pump will not work without a new breaker. The old one was arcing when he tried it and that could have started a fire if not replaced. Now, 2 days have gone by and I still do... Read More
I have had several claims either not covered (a permanently installed sump pump that was covered under the contract) or delayed to the point where I made the repair at my own cost ( AC compressor, outside temp 95 degrees)
Other problems were covered per contract.

It took a year to finally get a technician to come fix my broken washer. I will not recommend this warranty company because of this. The technician was knowledgeable and worked quickly to fix the problem. Choice Home Warranty always gives you the option to find your own repair person but this remote area has nobody that makes house calls or willing to invoice CHW.

Both my heating unit and my fridge were not working. I was able to request service on both on-line in an expedited manner.

The company has recently updated their plans increasing coverage and has fewer limitations. Their plans and optional coverage can cover over 25 major systems and appliances.
Choice Home Warranty earns a B rating from the Better Business Bureau and has a positive rating on Trustpilot, but in this industry, negative customer reviews far outnumber positive ones.
