Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I do not understand your email regarding my microwave. It is a built-in over the stove microwve. The cover panel came loose & was only hanging by a single piece of metal. The technician glued it back as a temporary fix. Said he’d order a new panel & return to attach it. Is Your email saying it is not covered? Are you saying normal wear & tear is not covered?

Robert's Handyman did a great job. However, there was an issue regarding the amount I had to pay, which was $120 in addition to the $85. I have already notified customer service.

Choice Home Warranty customer service was top notch but, getting the service done is not what I expected from you. Here is my problem: My refrigerator went out on us on December 24th (Christmas Eve). Because of the holiday, I did not call the service claim until December 26th thinking with the holidays no one would be able to come out. The customer service representative took my service claim and was very professional. The service repair company called me and was not able to come out until January 4th which now, we are going through another holiday. The technician was great, CHW on the other hand is doing it's best to test my patience. How long does it take to authorize a repair Geeesh! Fix the darn dishwasher!

Choice Home Warranty couldn't find an under pool technician within the guaranteed claim timeline, but they kept me updated and offered me an option to find someone on my own. I decided to wait until they were able to find a technician. It was worth the wait. Smart Pools sent Michael. He was professional, friendly, identified the problem and made the repairs in a timely manners.
