Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

My ac stopped working I called choice home warranty and the next day I was scheduled an appointment with a technician (max) from urban mechanical service The problem was fixed in less than an hour very friendly professional and fast service I would recommend it to everyone

Doug from uptown heating and cooling was great. He was able to squeeze me in and then fix my air conditioner. I appreciate the time he took out of his normal busy schedule to assist me. I highly recommend him.

Very disheartened by my experience! I came here to warn others so they may not fall for this scam... Had a membership for 7mo and paid out, but when it was time for them they own up to their end of the bargain they found every excuse not to pay for my HVAC repair and gave me the run around until I cancelled service. Fake Columbia company that takes money and bails on you and your family....

COMPLETE RIP OFF! DO NOT BUY THEIR USELESS PRODUCT! I have had them for 5 months, filed my first claim the other day due to my HVAC not working. Took three days before someone even came out. He diagnosed the problem, but since he didn't come out till Saturday night, he said he would not have a answer till Monday at the earliest, He also mentioned that the problem wasn't cheap and the insurance company would most likely not cover them, "they try to get out of paying for everything", the repair person's words. Our Air went out on Saturday morning and within hours we had a tech at our home fixing the transformer on the air conditioner unit. My whole family was down for a surprise visit so needless to say it was important for a fast turn around and choice warranty did not let us down. Thank you for getting us back and running for a wonderful family visit complete with Air conditioning.

I have had both sides good and bad but I have to say over all it is very nice and trust worthy . They have honored most of the claims and if not provided me with a reason that was with integrity. The price is great and the contact folks they use are professional . I am pleased with the service been a member for about three years .

This is the second time I needed service on my appliances, The first was for my clothe dryer and the second was our water heater. In both instances my claim was handled promptly and courteously by choice warrantee. when calling in for service my call was answered immediately , they took my specific information and explained they would contact a service company and would call back as soon as one was obtained. This was done in short time and they sent me an email stating the name of the company, their telephone number and told me the company would call me within 24 hours or I may call them myself.
