I signed up for the insurance on 10/28/2019 and was assisted by the sales representative who named himself "Dan". He lured me to sign up for this insurance by providing me with FALSE information about my coverage while I'm in waiting period. He said that my discount for regular filling wit the provider in network (we verified that) is going to be 20-30% while I'm in waiting period and will increase to 50% after 6 month. Today I find out that he provided me with false information knowingly without any knowledge about the contracted discount %.

Many of the required services for seniors require a 12 month wait. It is not as good as it looks

When all is said and done, I'm sure the payments are much higher than what they cover. Either limited coverage or no coverage on typical services. I think people assume that it is worthwhile to have dental insurance but I'm not sure that it is - if you had a major issue you would hit the maximum anyway. It is not the same as health insurance, which really is necessary and I think they use that assumption to their advantage.

Very disappointing!! Monthly payments were automatically charged to a credit card. The particular credit card had been frozen DUE to fraudulent charges....I honestly forgot about Delta Dental monthly charge on this card. I had been out of state for awhile and Delta Dental says emails were sent re: this issue.....however, I had No emails on this concern.....going thru all my email (and junk email folder) I only had the email notice I had been accepted and one re: rate increase....otherwise, I would have corrected this issue!! I contacted the Delta Dental office near me. The staff were helpful (as they could be) with my situation. One staff offered and "took it to the 'powers that... Read More

The Contact Center representatives were unprofessional. Our dentist office called to confirm the coverage of a procedure, and it was approved. However the submitted claim was later declined because the procedure was actually not covered. They are aware of their own mistake, but claimed it's patients and provider's full responsibility to understand the actual coverage. Why did they even set that Contact Center which provides incorrect information and not stands behind their words?

I’m very disgusted with Delta Dental. When I signed up, I was told crowns were covered at 50 percent. They neglected to tell me, that wasn’t until the second year of coverage. I specifically asked if crowns were immediately covered and they assured me they were. Now I’m out almost $1,000. They also didn’t cover my deep cleaning, something most older patients need. This is a terrible policy for AARP to be offering. I feel ripped off.

Delta Dental of California is U.S. Governments Federal Plan for retired federal workers. I am not a fan and can sum it up in one word...scam. They pre-approve procedures and they fight to not cover the procedure when the final claim is submitted. They have been bouncing a claim of mine back to my my dentist for going on 5 months, always asking for something new just so they can deny the claim. Scam! And they won’t even talk to me and tell me why there is a problem. Scam! I will not be renewing my policy with Deltal Scam Dental this year. Scam!

Their coverage might be good, however, their claim processing is completely antiquated in this day and age. It's slow, inaccurate and requires use of the postal service which is unreliable more often than not. More than once I had to print, stamp, find a mailbox just because they don't have electronic processing in place, which should really be adopted in this day and age!

Hard to use website. Contacting customer service gets you into a cycle of entering your private information repeatedly if you are transferred. Very inefficient and frustrating. Wish service providers would realize that automated screening is a HUGE TURNOFF!
