Figo is a Chicago-based pet insurance provider that cover cats and dogs. Founded in 2012, Figo takes a very technology-centric approach to pet insurance, incorporating a cloud-based platform to manage all your medical records and relevant information.

The company offers plans that cap benefits at either $5,000 or $10,000 as well as an unlimited benefit plan.

Figo offers extremely generous coverage for the price. Its standard plan covers items that most high-level plans won't unless they are made available as costly add ons.

Figo is the only company we are aware of that has a 100% reimbursement option at their highest premium rate. The company unlimited coverage as an option. In addition, pet owners can add one of three PowerUps to their plan: Wellness, Veterinary Exam Fee Coverage, or the Extra Care Pack.

However, Figo is relatively new and doesn't match the long track record some of our other featured companies.

Figo offers three plan levels and all of them provide substantial coverage for the price compared to most other companies.

Figo's least expensive plan covers normal accidents and illnesses, but also things like prescriptions, hip dysplasia, alternative treatments, prosthetics, mobility devices, and treatment for behavioral problems.

Figo imposes no exclusions for hereditary or congenital conditions, or pre-existing conditions if they have been cured for 12 months.

For complete peace of mind you may have to go with the high end plan to get the unlimited coverage, as advanced techniques and specialized treatments are costing more than ever before. Figo does not operate on a benefit schedule.

Figo covers all dogs and cats 8 weeks and older. There is no upper age limit, which is great as many other plans have one. There are also no breed restrictions.

Waiting periods for accidents and injuries is 1 days, and 14 days for illnesses. There is also a 6-month waiting period for problems associated with hip dysplasia and orthopedic, but the waiting period may be waived if your vet submits a form that certifies your pet has no pre-existing orthopedic conditions.

Figo offers multiple pet discount and a corporate group benefit plan. Discounts may vary by state.

Figo customers have exclusive access to the Figo Pet Cloud app, including features like a 24/7 Virtual Vet and easy mobile claim filing. No pet insurance company covers pre-existing conditions, but Figo is the only one who will help you identify those conditions at the start of your policy. If you don’t think you’ll get value out of pet insurance after your initial review, just cancel within 30 days of signing up for a full refund.

Figo's claims process is completely paperless and features fast and easy mobile claims with an average approval time of 2-5 days. Over 50% of claims are closed in 24 hours. Submit claims right through the Pet Cloud app by simply answering a few questions and sending a picture of the invoice. Evie, Figo’s AI chat assistant, will walk you through the process step by step. Once your claim has been submitted, their real-time claims tracker allows you to see exactly where your claim is in the process. Turnaround times are faster if you select direct deposit.

I researched pet insurance when I rescued my dog, Brody in Debember 2017. Every bit of my research pointed to Figo as the way to go. Things that appeal to me: the app for my phone, the mypetcloud.com site, the ability to have all of my receipts and vaccination records in one place, and the company using ACH deposits. I have had 3 claims for my dog since signing up with them 6 months ago- they paid the claims before the week was out!! Amazing. I am referring all of my friends to FIGO pet insurance. They put the other pet insurance companies to shame!

After over 10 dogs in past 30 years, I finally bought Figo for my most recent pup. She was diagnosed with a disease that she needs an injection each month at a cost of 200/month. Figo has been fantastic and this is the best thing I have ever done for my pup!

I spent the whole entire day trying to find good pet insurance for my cat!! And when I finally choose FIGO, it turned out to be a big waste of time!! Everytime I pressed the purchase button, it kept asking me for my password!! I put that in 85 times already & even kept changing my password!! But it wouldn't go through!! And the app doesn't even recognize my account, & so I had to uninstall it!! Thanks for nothing Figo!!😠

Very quick claims process! Figo is amazing. Our dog had to have emergency surgery on Tuesday, our claim was approved by Wednesday morning, and I was reimbursed by Friday. Couldn’t be easier!

I've had Figo for two years now, and it is more than worth the peace of mind it gives me. From normal sickness to unfortunately broken toes, I sleep so much easier at night knowing I don't have to make hard calls about my pet's health because insurance will back me up. My premium DID go up each year with my dog's age, but I appreciate being able to modify the policy to make it affordable and sustainable for myself. Each call with customer service is quick, painless, and I truly feel like they want the best for me and my dog. Lots of friends have tried to talk me into other providers, but I am extremely happy to stick with a company that I know will take care of me - Figo.

This was the first year that I've had to file any claims with Figo for my 5 year old labrador retriever. Since February, I've had to file several claims for a couple of different problems. Submitting the claims online was very quick and easy. Email verification of the filed claims was almost immediate. Customer service was extremely helpful the one time I had to contact them. Processing and payment for all of the claims including acupuncture took only a few days. So far, I'm very happy with Figo Pet Insurance. Keep up the good work!

Do not buy this insurance. It's a total Bait ad switch. They have attractive rates when you start, but last year my premium went up 25%, and they said it was a adjustment to level their prices with other companies. I just got my annual increase, and this year it went up over 30%. Their prices go up faster than even my own health care costs. They will respond to this and other postings saying they will work with you, but all that means is that they will adjust your coverage to make your monthly payment lower, but you are also giving up coverage or raising your deductibles. my dog is only 2 and has been very healthy. AMAZING! AMAZING! Can I say how AMAZING this company is?!? I cannot say enough wonderful words about this company not to mention they are the only ones that cover that vet fees, vacation cancellation and much much more. From the minute we signed up our dog for her policy up until she passed away all staff we’re professional and compassionate. I give this company five thumbs up in Fivestars. Thank you FIGO ♥️
