Figo is a Chicago-based pet insurance provider that cover cats and dogs. Founded in 2012, Figo takes a very technology-centric approach to pet insurance, incorporating a cloud-based platform to manage all your medical records and relevant information.

The company offers plans that cap benefits at either $5,000 or $10,000 as well as an unlimited benefit plan.

Figo offers extremely generous coverage for the price. Its standard plan covers items that most high-level plans won't unless they are made available as costly add ons.

Figo is the only company we are aware of that has a 100% reimbursement option at their highest premium rate. The company unlimited coverage as an option. In addition, pet owners can add one of three PowerUps to their plan: Wellness, Veterinary Exam Fee Coverage, or the Extra Care Pack.

However, Figo is relatively new and doesn't match the long track record some of our other featured companies.

Figo offers three plan levels and all of them provide substantial coverage for the price compared to most other companies.

Figo's least expensive plan covers normal accidents and illnesses, but also things like prescriptions, hip dysplasia, alternative treatments, prosthetics, mobility devices, and treatment for behavioral problems.

Figo imposes no exclusions for hereditary or congenital conditions, or pre-existing conditions if they have been cured for 12 months.

Unlike some of our other top companies, Figo does not select unlimited coverage for you as a default. You can choose between $5,000, $10,000, and unlimited.

For complete peace of mind you may have to go with the high end plan to get the unlimited coverage, as advanced techniques and specialized treatments are costing more than ever before. Figo does not operate on a benefit schedule.

Figo covers all dogs and cats 8 weeks and older. There is no upper age limit, which is great as many other plans have one. There are also no breed restrictions.

Waiting periods for accidents and injuries is 1 days, and 14 days for illnesses. There is also a 6-month waiting period for problems associated with hip dysplasia and orthopedic, but the waiting period may be waived if your vet submits a form that certifies your pet has no pre-existing orthopedic conditions.

Figo offers multiple pet discount and a corporate group benefit plan. Discounts may vary by state.

Figo customers have exclusive access to the Figo Pet Cloud app, including features like a 24/7 Virtual Vet and easy mobile claim filing. No pet insurance company covers pre-existing conditions, but Figo is the only one who will help you identify those conditions at the start of your policy. If you don’t think you’ll get value out of pet insurance after your initial review, just cancel within 30 days of signing up for a full refund.

Figo's claims process is completely paperless and features fast and easy mobile claims with an average approval time of 2-5 days. Over 50% of claims are closed in 24 hours. Submit claims right through the Pet Cloud app by simply answering a few questions and sending a picture of the invoice. Evie, Figo’s AI chat assistant, will walk you through the process step by step. Once your claim has been submitted, their real-time claims tracker allows you to see exactly where your claim is in the process. Turnaround times are faster if you select direct deposit.

I searched for a long time for pet insurance. Figo has exceeded my expectations in both customer service on the phone as well as by email. They do what they say they will do. Each claim is handled expeditiously. This is a very good company.

We miss our Moe terribly. Theres a huge hole in our hearts. However, I must say that during this horrific time of dealing with Moe’s cancer the one thing we never had to worry about was his medical care. It was such a great relief to know we could provide him with the best care thanks to Figo. Your response times were always quick, and we loved the options of care available for our Moe. We just needed to choose which option was best for him. Thank you for walking along side of us providing the best care for our much loved Moe. Figo has been the best.

EXCELLENT COMPANY. They actually have come through with the things they said when I was deciding which of the many insurance companies to have insure my dog. They have been honorable, quick to respond and am really impressed with them, their integrity and their pretty terrific people skills. I would definitely recommend them

We could not be happier with the quality of coverage, customer service, timeliness of claim approval and responses from agents we have experienced since we opened our policy. I opened the policy to have in the event of an accident, not even thinking about other health concerns that could pop up. Since then we have had a few unexpected things happen with our dog and Figo has made the process so smooth. We recently expanded our coverage with Anne's help. She explained everything very thoroughly and put no pressure on me to make a decision. Opening this policy for our dog was the beset decision we made. I would recommend Figo to anyone looking for pet insurance coverage.

Although I am a little upset that my insurance renewal went up $60 this year for both of my pets, Figo is still the cheapest company In comparison to all the other quotes I received. And I am extremely satisfied with with how fast they pay on a claim. I upload the bill and with in a week or so the money is right in my account. The app is very user friendly and the fact that I can text them just makes my life so much easier. Their customer services is excellent. I have had Figo for a year and my dog needed surgery and the process with the insurance was exceptionally smooth! I definitely recommend this company.

I have had Figo for my sphynx cat Agnes for a couple years now. They have been great with claims. You see, Aggie has been diagnosed with asthma, and much recently environmental allergies. They have covered it all! The inhalers and asthma medication covered without questions. The dermatologist and allergy testing, also covered! We have been giving her allergy serum injections and they covered it also! Filing claims are easy with the app, answer a couple questions snap a picture of your invoice and done. Within a few days my reimbursement is directly deposited into my account. My only concern is the renewal premiums. The first year it did increase about 40% but it made sense given her... Read More

I strongly recommend against this pet insurance, they have denied every single one of my 4 claims so far, $0 YTD. As a new client, this is very disheartening and only speaks to the way insurance is built, they are meant to make money off of premiums and deny as many claims as possible. This company is no different, and will only follow the same tactics. They have so many different codes/reasons for denial. They may seem to be better and more tech savvy than other companies when viewing their website and offerings but don't let this fool you, there is definitely a lack of really caring for your pet and you will end up as just another policy number for them to make money off of. Every claim I have put it, I was not reimbursed. Not even the vet exam fees! I have included illness/infection protection, and didn't cover her vet fees for when MY cat had a UTI. Waste of money for me (i get things happen and pets get sick, but that is why I included the illness part of the insurance).

They employ the same non sense as other companies, say you adopt a dog it has an ear infection in right ear, you go to the vet in the first week, they wont cover it because its in a probationary period, a month later she gets another ear infection in the same ear, now its a prexisting condition. Such typical BS they always try to get out of paying.

LOVE THEM!!LOVE THEM!!! Submitted a claim in the morning , by afternoon closed and paid. I have had other insurance companies that cost way more and covered less, it was always a fight. FIGO has never given me any problem!! I LOVE THEM!!!!!!
