Figo is a Chicago-based pet insurance provider that cover cats and dogs. Founded in 2012, Figo takes a very technology-centric approach to pet insurance, incorporating a cloud-based platform to manage all your medical records and relevant information.

The company offers plans that cap benefits at either $5,000 or $10,000 as well as an unlimited benefit plan.

Figo offers extremely generous coverage for the price. Its standard plan covers items that most high-level plans won't unless they are made available as costly add ons.

Figo is the only company we are aware of that has a 100% reimbursement option at their highest premium rate. The company unlimited coverage as an option. In addition, pet owners can add one of three PowerUps to their plan: Wellness, Veterinary Exam Fee Coverage, or the Extra Care Pack.

However, Figo is relatively new and doesn't match the long track record some of our other featured companies.

Figo offers three plan levels and all of them provide substantial coverage for the price compared to most other companies.

Figo's least expensive plan covers normal accidents and illnesses, but also things like prescriptions, hip dysplasia, alternative treatments, prosthetics, mobility devices, and treatment for behavioral problems.

Figo imposes no exclusions for hereditary or congenital conditions, or pre-existing conditions if they have been cured for 12 months.

Unlike some of our other top companies, Figo does not select unlimited coverage for you as a default. You can choose between $5,000, $10,000, and unlimited.

For complete peace of mind you may have to go with the high end plan to get the unlimited coverage, as advanced techniques and specialized treatments are costing more than ever before. Figo does not operate on a benefit schedule.

Figo covers all dogs and cats 8 weeks and older. There is no upper age limit, which is great as many other plans have one. There are also no breed restrictions.

Waiting periods for accidents and injuries is 1 days, and 14 days for illnesses. There is also a 6-month waiting period for problems associated with hip dysplasia and orthopedic, but the waiting period may be waived if your vet submits a form that certifies your pet has no pre-existing orthopedic conditions.

Figo offers multiple pet discount and a corporate group benefit plan. Discounts may vary by state.

Figo customers have exclusive access to the Figo Pet Cloud app, including features like a 24/7 Virtual Vet and easy mobile claim filing. No pet insurance company covers pre-existing conditions, but Figo is the only one who will help you identify those conditions at the start of your policy. If you don’t think you’ll get value out of pet insurance after your initial review, just cancel within 30 days of signing up for a full refund.

Figo's claims process is completely paperless and features fast and easy mobile claims with an average approval time of 2-5 days. Over 50% of claims are closed in 24 hours. Submit claims right through the Pet Cloud app by simply answering a few questions and sending a picture of the invoice. Evie, Figo’s AI chat assistant, will walk you through the process step by step. Once your claim has been submitted, their real-time claims tracker allows you to see exactly where your claim is in the process. Turnaround times are faster if you select direct deposit.

You can either take a picture of the bill with your phone and submit it via the cloud or uploaded it to your email client and send it that way. Turnaround times are faster than most if you select direct deposit.

I've had pet insurance in the past with another company. I have no complaints regarding them, however, FIGO was the only company that reimbursed 100%. I've had great experiences with customer service. I recently filed two separate claims, and they were processed and complete the next day! All I will end up being responsible for is my deductible! I'm so grateful I have this policy on my fur babies.

I have had a wonderful experience with Figo, from enrollment to the claims process to billing. I appreciate that they emailed when claims were submitted saying the expected turn around time. I just filed 2 claims this week that I expected to take up to two weeks. They were processed within 2 days. Figo has been everything I'd expect of a company I do business with.

So far so great with Figo! The claims process is simple and convenient. They turn claims around within days and your money is deposited directly into your checking account. It will be interesting to see if the cost of the insurance increases since one of my dogs had some claims. This is my first time using pet insurance and thus far I have been pleasantly surprised.

Not very happy I paid a lot of money and was not reimbursed. I tried numerous times to have the issue fixed and explain to no avail. The most frustrating part was that there was no call back as promised.

Trying to get coverage for my new puppy but when I try to obtain a quote the system says they do not insure until 8 weeks of age?? Strange because the plan overview states and I quote, "Figo covers all dogs and cats 6 weeks and older - Min Enrollment Age 0 weeks". What's up? Does the site need to be updated? Not a very good way to start a relationship with your potential pet insurer

I chose Figo because of its simplicity. Sign up took a few minutes. I chose essential plan 10k,200 deductible , 100 percent coverage. The montly premium was one of the most affordable compared to the other pet insurance companies. Plus, Figo coverage was the most generous. I have not yet filed a claim but so far customer service was very helpful. I f I had a question, I would text them, and I would get a replay back within a few mintues. I now have peace of mind. Thanks Figo.!!!

I compared policies, and by far this company offers the best coverage. I went with $200 annual deductible, and 90% reimbursement plan for my two kittens. I now have the peace of mind that if something happens I am covered. Most comprehensive plan I could find.

We just insured our German Shorthaired Pointer, Prince. Have not had any claims yet but we do like the Pet Cloud where you can send Figo your pet's medical records very easy. Also, chose Figo because they had 100% reimbursement coverage that the other companies did not offer. Time will tell if we made a good choice and we will keep you updated. So far so good!!!
