Overall Rating: 3.9 / 5 (Very good)

First Premier Home Warranty is a relative newcomer to the home warranty industry, but enjoys an overall favorable reputation on consumer review sites. The company offers coverage in 27 states. Customers have a choice of two plans and may also elect coverage upgrades for unique home features.

First Premier Home Warranty does not provide specific pricing information on its website, but they make it fairly easy to request a quote online. Monthly premiums and per-service-call prices may vary by location and by the deductible a customer selects.

First Premier Home Warranty policies are highly customizable. Customers can select coverage very specific to their needs. Some homeowners might really appreciate this level of flexibility, while others might prefer to purchase an all-in-one plan to keep things simple.

Coverage Options - 4 / 5

First Premier Home Warranty offers a choice of two plans. Its lower price plan, the Premier Plan, does not cover some of the items might expect it to and which are included in competitive plans, including refrigerator, washer, and dryer coverage. You must step up to the Premier Platinum plan and/or to specialty coverage options to get coverage for these items. The company's specialty options include coverage for pools, spas, sump pumps, and duplicate appliances.

Specialty Items and Additional Coverage

First Premier Home Warranty offers quite a few options for covering unique home items. We found their coverage for second appliances in the home—like that extra fridge in the basement—a particularly practical option.

Contract & Price - 3.5 / 5

You can purchase a First Premier Home Warranty by the month or annually. The company's two stand-alone plan prices are a little higher than average. However, customers may find that if they add specialized coverage for such items you might be expected to be included in a non-custom plan—such as a refrigerator ice maker, washer, or dryer—the cost of your policy can really creep up.

Cancellation Policy

First Premier Home Warranty allows customers to cancel their policies for a full refund within 30 days of purchase, provided no claims are made during that period.

A bunch of ... All the reviews are fake, check the reviews profiles: you can pay for them online. Another issue (again): There is an AC unit that is broken, and the technician has asked the home warranty company to replace it. After weeks asking First Premier Home Warranty to give a deadline in order to change the AC unit I have received a call from a salesman telling me that If I renew the policy (renewal date for the 06.15.22) they will cover the claim. This is unethical and illegal. Just my two cents: buyer beware :( ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Good afternoon, May you kindly tell me what your home warranty company is for? I am supposed... Read More

Roy was great in giving me all the answers to my questions. His supervisor (don’t recall his name) was great at finding a good price for our coverage. I feel at ease having the coverage after being a first-time home buyer.highly recommend them

Bogus. They say something is covered and only say they will first you $200 for it when the bill is $523. Beware of fake reviews. Very unprofessional . And they claim to can't find service providers but don't want to pay the one you find.

Most expensive, unethical racket in Home Warranty business. Bought a 6 year, $2,500 warranty. (Monthly cost: $34.72 a month). Had 2 claims. Both deemed irreparable. Fought for 25% and, 10% for payouts! Cancelled after 10 months. Had to fight to get a $600 refund!!! Expected around $2,150 for 10 months.

I signed up a home warranty with this company (First Premium Home Warranty). My Kitchen disposal broke down and reported; the contract says you wait for 48 hours then get a claim number, after which they'll assign a technician to come and fix the appliance. I did exactly that, was given a claim number and a technician called and confirmed the time they were to show up at my place to check the disposal. The technician never showed up as agreed and when I called them, they told me that First Premium Home Warranty had called them and advised them not to come. I then reached out to First Premium Home Warranty and initially they said that this contractor had quoted a higher price compared to... Read More
